This research investigates the impact of utilizing the inquiry method in enhancing descriptive text writing skills among tenth-grade students at SMAN 08 Bandar Lampung during the 2019/2020 academic year. By promoting student engagement and critical thinking, the inquiry method aims to improve students' confidence and competence in writing, addressing common weaknesses in writing among English language learners. The study concludes with suggestions for effective teaching strategies that incorporate students' daily linguistic experiences to facilitate better writing outcomes.
