Successful pregnancy outcome after cervical dilation with multiple laminaria tents in preparation for second-trimester elective abortion: A report of two cases (original) (raw)
This report presents two cases of successful pregnancies following the removal of multiple laminaria tents, which were initially placed for the purpose of second-trimester elective abortion. In both cases, the patients initially sought abortion but changed their minds after laminaria insertion. Despite concerns regarding the risks of complications such as amnionitis and preterm labor, both women delivered healthy infants without encountering significant complications. These cases challenge the prevailing assumptions about the risks associated with terminating a pregnancy after cervical dilation.
