Crisis of Trust in the Government in Handling COVID-19 in Palopo City
Covid-19 is a virus that is quite likely to have spread in China since August 2019. This means that this outbreak had spread several months before it was thought to have broken out in Wuhan and spread throughout the world. Indonesia is one of the countries that has suffered quite concerning impacts due to Covid-19. All regions in Indonesia are quite concerned about Covid-19. South Sulawesi Province is one of the provinces of Indonesia where the spread of Covid-19 is quite active and is in the Orange zone for districts/cities including Palopo City. So that there are several policies taken by the Palopo City Government, one of which is refocusing the 2020 APBD budget for handling Covid-19. However, with the budget issued by the Palopo city government, the number of victims has increased so that the public thinks there is an effort to end budget in handling covid-19 by increasing the number of victims of covid so that people start to be afraid to go to the hospital to carry out this examination based on several cases that have occurred in the hospital. In Palopo, the majority of patients with hypertension, high blood sugar, asthma, and shortness of breath are victims of Covid-19. This article examines the crisis of trust in the Palopo community in the government in handling the Covid-19 case. Due to an indication of the game in determining the victim of Covid-19. The purpose of this study is to examine the crisis of public confidence in the government in handling Covid-19 in Palopo City. The conclusions are used to draw some recommendations for dynamic governance.
COVID-19 Pandemic: a Litmus Test of Trust in the Health System

The pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV2 novel coronavirus is creating a global crisis. There is a global ambience of uncertainty and anxiety. In addition, nations have imposed strict and restrictive public health measures including lockdowns. In this heightened time of vulnerability, public cooperation to preventive measures depends on trust and confidence in the health system. Trust is the optimistic acceptance of the vulnerability in the belief that the health system has best intentions. On the other hand, confidence is assessed based on previous experiences with the health system. Trust and confidence in the health system motivate people to accept the public health interventions and cooperate with them. Building trust and confidence therefore becomes an ethical imperative. This article analyses the COVID-19 pandemic in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu and the state's response to this pandemic. Further, it applies the Trust-Confidence-Cooperation framework of risk management to analyse the influence of public trust and confidence on the Tamil Nadu health system in the context of the preventive strategies adopted by the state. Finally, the article proposes a six-pronged strategy to build trust and confidence in health system functions to improve cooperation to pandemic containment measures.

Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) is a pandemic that is being felt by almost all countries, including Indonesia. Apart from having an impact on the safety of people's lives, it also has an impact on the political and economic aspects. There have been many efforts and policies taken by the central and regional governments to date, but it is still felt that they have not given the public hope when this pandemic will end soon. This has the potential to harm public trust (Trust Public) in the performance of the government to handle the covid-19 outbreak. The purpose of this paper is to describe the alternatives that the government should try to do to increase public trust.

This research aims to evaluate the level of Turkish people's trust in the measures taken by the Ministry of Health to contain Covid 19. In the study, which was planned in a quantitative research design, Total of 931 people from 62 provinces in Turkey participated in the study. The data collection tool consisted of 31 questions. The questionnaire form was elaborated by Altstadt's authors and created using the freely available online Google Docs application. The questionnaire was sent to participants via social media networks from February 1, 2021 and February 20, 2021. Citizens over the age of 18 living in Turkey participated in the research. The research has a young participant population. According to the analysis results obtained from the research, it was concluded that participants' trust in the Ministry of Health was at a moderate level. Suggestions were made for future work.
Trust in the Bangladeshi health system during the COVID-19 pandemic: A mixed-methods exploration

Lack of trust in public health institutions hinders pandemic management. Our aim was to determine levels of impersonal and interpersonal trust in the context of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic response in Bangladesh. As this mixed-methods research was conducted during the pandemic, data was gathered via an online survey involving 508 respondents, along with seven online focus group discussions with 50 purposively selected participants. Survey respondents have less trust in the health system than in the service providers. The lowest level of trust was observed in the Fairness content area of trust. While some non-clinical participants blamed doctors for shying away from caregiving during the pandemic, most praised them for providing care, risking their lives, and even sacrificing their lives in the process. Several participants also cited a lack of fairness in pandemic management, such as visible attempts by the decision-makers to protect the business interests without consideration for the safety of the poor. However, both clinicians and non-clinicians concurred on the need for the service providers to improve communication related to COVID-19 management. Health sector stewards in Bangladesh should take a science-based, equity-focused pandemic response to gain both impersonal and interpersonal trust and build a resilient health system in the long run.

This article aims to explain what efforts have been made by the Aceh Health Service in building public confidence in the importance of injecting the Covid-19 vaccination. The low coverage of the Covid-19 vaccination in Aceh as of 18 September 2021, which was only 11.74%, made Aceh one of the 3 regions with the lowest Covid-19 vaccination rate in Indonesia, until the end of November 2021. There were many people's refusal to get vaccinated against the background of mistrust was the reason for the low coverage of the Covid-19 vaccination in Aceh at that time. However, since the end of December 2021 the coverage of Covid-19 vaccinations in Aceh has begun to increase, so that in February 2022 Aceh is ranked 18th nationally. The world has experienced a severe outbreak that affected millions for more than two years. Managing this outbreak is a very important task for governments. Several measures such as lockdown, mandatory face masks, travel restrictions, online education, and vaccination have been taken to prevent the spread of this serious disease. In this process, trust in authorities or governments is likely to be a key instrument to succeed combating against coronavirus. This paper investigates determinants of trust in local authorities and government on managing pandemic in the case of Malaysia using High-Frequency Monitoring of COVID-19 Impacts in Malaysia (2021-Round 1 and Round 2) that is provided by the World Bank. Findings showed that vaccination status as a key parameter is a significant indicator to explain trust in authorities, along with a few other variables that would help to understand how trust, in this respect, is shaped.
Urban and Rural Public Trust to Government in Covid-19 Pandemic Responses

This study attempts to assess the level of public trust in the Surabaya City Government and Banyuwangi Regency Government's handling of Covid-19. Utilizing a survey technique that was descriptively analyzed. Using the quota sampling method, up to 400 samples from each city/region's generation Y and Z were collected. According to the findings, there is a high level of trust in all dimensions of the Banyuwangi Regency Government. Medium levels of trust were accorded to the Surabaya City Government in terms of responsiveness and reliability, but high levels of trust were accorded in terms of integrity, transparency, and fairness.
Public Trust in Healthcare System and Its Correlates during the COVID-19 Epidemic in Iran

Background: Public trust in the healthcare system is a critical necessity of management in public health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. To rapidly assess the public trust in the healthcare system during the COVID-19 epidemic and its correlates in Iran.Methods: A cross-sectional rapid assessment was conducted in Iran during the COVID-19 epidemic in the country. A probability proportional to size multistage random sampling was applied. Sampling was done in 15 provinces. We collected data on public perceived fear, public trust in health system and socio-demographics. Ordinary least square regression modeling was applied to identify correlates of public trust.Results: A total of 5250 adults (response rate: 76%) were participated in the study. Mean of reported trust scores was 50.3±22.8, and of fear scores was 72.0±17.8.
