Background. In the rural zones, the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), is a theme that stating to rise, for instance, the use of mobile phone by the small-scale dairy farmers. Objective. The aim of the research was to identify the importance, the information that farmers receive and communicate and the variables influencing the use of the ICT by farmers. Methodology. A questionnaire was conducted with 170 farmers, to collect information about farmers’ characteristics, household, farm characteristics, the importance of the ICT, information that farmers receive and communicate through the ICT. Descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression analysis were conducted to analyse the information. Results. This study is an attempt to explore the awareness and use of mobile apps among the farmers of Ambala and Yamunanagar districts of Haryana state of India. This study aimed to determine how different mobile applications were being used by the farmers in agricultural practices. For the present study, survey method was adopted using questionnaire with the aid of interview as a data gathering tool. For data collection, during March–April, 2023, copies of self designed questionnaire were distributed manually on random basis among 300 farmers of six areas/blocks of two districts of Ambala and Yamunanagar. Out of total 300 administered questionnaires, interestingly all the questionnaires were received back and found valid for analysis and thus 100% response rate has been achieved. The study revealed that about 80% of the farmers were familiar with the use of ICT and mobile phone applications in various farming practices. The study also found that 42% of the respondents/farmers find easy to use various mobile apps in farming practices and 75.66% of the respondents were using different mobile phone applications for getting information about pest and disease control in crops. More than 75% of the farmers/respondents were in the opinion that mobile apps are quiet useful in their farming practices to get the required information timely.
AGRICULTURE UPDATE
Now a days, one of the most important emerging tools of ICT is the mobile phones with a remarkable growth during last decade. Mobile phone technologies have provided a good platform for farmers to share their knowledge and information among each other in time such as weather information, crop and variety selection, fertilizer and irrigation management, disease and pest management market prices of the product and ongoing government programmes. Keeping this in view, a study was conducted assess the utilization pattern of mobile phones for sharing agricultral information among farmers in Merta block of Nagaur district of Rajasthan.A total of 110 respondents were selected for the study. This study has show that a majority (83.63%) of the farmer used call to retailorthan call to relative farmer (80%), internet user (29.09) and perceived as most information on weedicide, pesticide & disease control (89.9%) through mobile phones. The correlation studies indicate a significant association between educations, with extension agency contact and mass media of the farmer. The analysis the poor connectivity, economic problem, high cost internet services and lack of updated information were some of the problems reported by the respondents.

Of the recent advancements in ICT and its application in agriculture and allied sector; mobile apps have the potential to convert world into a digital ecosystem. Reckoning with this fact a new mobile application called "Eco-Dairy" was developed to disseminate information on Environment Friendly Dairy Farming Practices (EFDFPs). This paper uncovers the constraints faced by the respondents in using the developed android application as well as throws a light on the profile variables of the respondents. Statistics like cumulative square root frequency and garret ranking method was used for analysing the data. Basically respondents were falling under middle age group (56.67 %), mostly male (88.67 %), functionally literate (35.33 %), were in low income group (62.00%), had marginal land holding (67.33%) and 82 per cent of them possessed smart phones. Of the constraints perceived by the respondents "Difficulty in reading the screen text", "Lack of skill in operating the smart phone" and "Non availability of time" were the main constraints while using the application and were ranked I, II and III respectively.
Farmers invest much money for their cultivations but they failed recover their cost due to not having latest agricultural information. Mobile applications are maintained by local agencies to enhance information richness of farmers. However, the farmers do not use those applications. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the factors affecting for the usage of mobile applications among farmers in agriculture in Bulathsinhala area. The administrative questionnaire was developed getting help from previous studies and data were collected from 100 respondents who had smart phones using purposive sampling technique. The respondents were farmers who engaged with Land, Mud and Animal farming. The results revealed that Education and Knowledge, Social & Family Factors and Economic Condition had a significance relationship with usage of mobile application. According to Pearson correlation, Facilitating Conditions is also statistically significant to use mobile application by farmers but using regression rejects it. Famers must be educated to use agricultural applications, as well as agricultural societies must share the cost of those applications.

The current study also focuses and analyses the farmers' inclination and their usage of smart phone for agricultural extension. This research is based on survey research method in which a closed-ended questionnaire was developed after the review of relevant literature. Furthermore, purposive and convenient sampling techniques were used to collect the data from the respondents who are farmers in Punjab. The study was conducted during the year 2020 in the selected district of Bahawalnagar. Overall results elaborate that age and education were among the factors that accounted for familiarity with apps. However, 42.9 percent of the respondents with the age 30 to 40 were somehow familiar with Agri-apps and 17.3 percent of respondents with twelve years of schooling were familiar with the apps usage. Likewise, 37 respondents in age bracket of 20 to 30 were of the view that usage of apps have resulted in increased agricultural production. It was concluded that age and education of the respondents had significant impact on the usage and familiarity of the apps available on smart phones.

Nowadays everyone is using mobile phone for connect with each other’s and get information about different issues and updates around the world. However, mobile phones have also played an important role in the development of agriculture and make it easy for farmers to communicate with buyers and sellers to sell their goods in reasonable price. The study was conducted in Sindh province of Pakistan where ten districts were selected and 1500 farmers randomly were selected for interview. While 150 farmers were selected from these ten districts according to the list provided by Agriculture Department Government of Sindh and Sindh Irrigation & Drainage Authority (SIDA). Use and Role of Mobile Phone for Information Services in Agricultural Activities

The main purpose of this study was to determine the use and role of mobile phone for information services in agricultural activities as well as to explore the relationship between the socio-economic characteristics of women farmers and their use of mobile phone in agricultural activities. Data were collected using pre-tested interview schedule from a sample of 85 women farmers during the month of August 2018. Besides descriptive statistics, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (r) was used to explore the significant influencing factors. Ten (10) different android mobile phone apps were identified which are most frequently used by the women farmers in the study area. Among the mobile apps, ‘vutta or maize app’ was found as the top used mobile app for information services in agricultural activities.
