Abstract
Developing learners’ oral skills is particularly daunting to English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers in Asia, where English does not have immediate social and communicative functions within the community where it is learned and speaking is often neglected in EFL classrooms. In view of this, this chapter proposes oral communication strategy teaching as an innovative practice to promote teaching speaking skills in Asia and beyond.
