Domestic Care: Stories without a Beginning, a Middle, or an End (original) (raw)
Multitudes, 2009
Abstract
Domestic care remains largely unknown. The various activities implied as well as the function of domestic care in the whole care process are seen from the points of view of public policies and health care professionals discourses. This paper intends to render visible the social organisation of domestic care work as well as the experience of various actors, especially those who endorse the main responsibility of the domestic part of the carework. Listening to people telling their experience is a pathway to give the caregivers’ voice a public visibility.
