The Potential of Economic Base of the Livestock Sector in Kediri-East Java

Purpose of this study is to describe the potential of economic base of livestock commodities in Kediri-East Java- Indonesia. The research was conducted from March 2017 by using exploratory method, referring to secondary data in Statistic Centers publication of Kediri Regency. Location Quotient Analysis (LQ) data analysis was usedto determine the economic base of livestock sector in Kediri Re-gency. The Potency of Livestock Subsector Development in Banyumas Regency Central Java

Livestock subsector is one of source of economic growth on local or regional area. Therefore, government has to concern increasing the production intensity of livestock subsector. Banyumas Regency is one of region that has potency as center of livestock production in Central Java. The objectives of research were: (1) to know population target of livestock subsector superior commodity in Banyumas Regency for five years ahead; (2) to identify basis and no basis commodity; (3) to know the distribution of basis commodity; (4) to know area specialization of basis commodity; (5) to identify area growth in region; and (6) to know specialization of basis commodity in area. Mapping the Leading Livestock Sector in Musi Rawas Regency

This research attempts to identify the livestock industry in Musi Rawas Regency that can be improved. The Location Quotient (LQ) approach assesses which livestock industry leads and which is not. Secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency and the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Musi Rawas Regency in 2019 were combined with primary data from farmer interviews. The findings revealed that six were the most popular of the nine livestock sectors: beef cattle, buffalo, goats, sheep, native chickens, ducks/ducks, dairy cattle, pigs, and broilers. Development of Agricultural Subsector in Moving Regional Economy : An Empirical Studyin Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province, Indonesia

The Mining and Quarrying sectors, which dominates almost 30 percent of the Tanah Laut's economic structure, is experiencing a slowdown in economic growth and has resulted in an increase in the percentage of poor people in Tanah Laut District over the past five years. Agricultural Sector which occupies second position in Tanah Laut Regency economy is expected to be the driving force of the economy and reduce the poverty rate. Agricultural-based economic development is one way to drive the economy in Tanah Laut Regency. This study aims to identify and analyze the agricultural subsector that can be superior in driving the economy of Tanah Laut Regency. Research location in Tanah Laut Regency with research time from November 2017 until May 2018. The data used in this research is secondary data during 2001-2016 obtained from BPS-Statistics Indonesia. Analyzer used is area potential analysis by calculating Location Quotient index and Shift Share Index. The results showed that the sub-sectors having comparative advantages from Location Quotient analysis were livestock sub-sector, agriculture and hunting service sub-sector, forestry sub-sector and logging and fishery sub-sector. While the sub-sectors that have competitive advantage from Shift Share analysis are fishery sub-sector, food crop sub-sector, livestock sub-sector and agriculture service sub-sector. The leading sub-sectors are the sub-sectors that have comparative and competitive advantages such as livestock sub-sector, agriculture service sub-sector and fishery sub-sector.

The success of regional development could be seen through the level of economic growth among its sectors. In case of Blitar City, although it has limited natural resources, but environmental issues and food securities were the main priorities. Agriculture, as one of the sectors with rapid growth in Blitar City, showed a positive trend which was strengthened by an increase in vegetable consumption, so that food should become the main issue in development priorities. This study aimed to map all economic sectors and formulate appropriate strategies for the agricultural sector as the main driver of food security in Blitar City. The diversity of superior potential that exists in the southern coastal region of Purworejo Regency is one of the basic capital in economic development. However, the reality is the diversity of superior commodity potentials from the agricultural sector has not become a basis in the economic development of the southern coastal region of Purworejo Regency. Based on this, the research is focused on examining various types of potential commodity as a basis in the economic development of the southern coastal region of Purworejo Regency. The data used in this study are secondary data. Secondary data were obtained through institutional studies from local government agencies. Data were analyzed using the LQ, Shift share and SWOT models. The results of the study found that there are various types of superior commodities that will be the basis for the development of the southern coastal region of Purworejo Regency.

Investigating the Determinants of the Livestock Sub-sector in Aceh Province, Indonesia

This study analyzes the effect of livestock subsector farmers' exchange rate, inflation, and human development index on the livestock subsector economy in Aceh Province. This study uses multiple regression models with a time series period of 2012-2021 totaling 40 observations. The results showed that the exchange rate of livestock subsector farmers had a negative and significant effect on the economic growth rate of the livestock subsector in Aceh Province. In addition, inflation has a positive and significant effect on the economic growth rate of the livestock subsector in Aceh Province, while the human development index has no significant effect. Therefore, various policies are needed to overcome the inequality of livestock subsector farmers' welfare and improve the quality of human resources. Central Sulawesi's agricultural sector is classified as a substantial sector. This study aims to identify the existence of the agricultural sector in the economic structure of Central Sulawesi. Data analysis used Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and Shift Share Analysis methods. The data used is based from the Central Statistics Agency for Central Sulawesi and Indonesia in 2015-2020 based on constant prices. The results showed that the agricultural sector of Central Sulawesi was classified as the base sector with the highest average LQ value and was followed by the mining and quarrying sector. Meanwhile, the results of the DLQ analysis show that the agricultural sector is threatened with repositioning in the future.
