Abstract

Yttrium iron garnet (YIG) (Y3Fe5O12) powders have been synthesized through a co-precipitation method in the presence of sodium bis(2-ethylhexylsulfosuccinate), AOT as an anionic surfactant. The garnet precursors produced were obtained from aqueous iron and yttrium nitrates mixtures using 5M sodium hydroxide at pH 10.
