The increasing prevalence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education underscores the necessity to explore its implications on ethical, social, and educational dynamics within the sector. This study aims to comprehensively investigate the impact of AI on higher education in Saudi Arabia, delving into stakeholders' attitudes, perceptions, and expectations regarding its implementation. The research hones in on key facets of AI in higher education, encompassing its influence on teaching and learning, ethical and social implications, and the anticipated role of AI in the future. Employing a quantitative approach through an online survey questionnaire (N = 1113), this study reveals positive attitudes toward AI in higher education. Stakeholders recognize its potential to enhance teaching and learning, streamline administration, and foster innovation. Emphasis is placed on ethical considerations and guidelines for AI implementation, highlighting the imperative need to address issues such as privacy, security, and bias. Participants envision a future characterized by personalized learning experiences, ethically integrated AI, collaboration, and ongoing support for lifelong learning. Furthermore, the results illuminate the intricate interplay between AI usage, purposes, difficulties, and their impact on attitudes, perceptions, and future implications. Accordingly, the research underscores the necessity for a comprehensive understanding of AI integration, considering not only its technical aspects but also the ethical, social, and educational dimensions. By acknowledging the role of AI uses, AI usage purposes, and addressing associated difficulties, educational stakeholders can work towards harnessing the benefits of AI while ensuring responsible and effective implementation in teaching and learning contexts.

Ethical considerations should be examined to determine how AI and ML affect education. Educational AI and ML bring privacy, security, and student data usage problems. This research examined AI and ML ethics in higher education at selected universities. Ethical issues AI and machine learning in education provide fairness, privacy, and openness. AI training data may perpetuate educational biases and impair student achievement. For complete comprehension, mixed methods research included quantitative and qualitative data. Four Lusaka district universities contributed 100 survey respondents. The initiative included four universities' department chairs, professors, and students. Structured open-ended interviews and questionnaires collected data. Quantitative questionnaire data was descriptively examined in SPSS and Excel, while semi-structured interview data was thematically evaluated. According to research, AI may reduce educational monitoring and learner engagement. Another concern is the digital gap and AI access. AI's sophisticated skills may be inaccessible to impoverished students, worsening educational inequity. The report advised training students and staff on data security and providing explicit permission procedures for data use in AI-driven educational systems, including strong encryption, anonymisation, and access limits.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education has enormous potential to transform learning processes, personalize instruction, and enhance educational outcomes. To guarantee that AI in education serves all students while preserving their rights and well-being, a variety of ethical problems must be addressed in addition to this transformational potential. This abstract examines the ethical issues surrounding the use of AI in education, concentrating on three key areas: privacy, bias, and equity. The collection and use of student data raises privacy issues in the context of AI integration. Strong data security and protection measures must be put in place, informed consent must be obtained, and the privacy implications of AI surveillance must be addressed. These efforts must be guided by ethical values like data anonymization and openness. Another important component of integrating ethical AI is bias prevention. Biases existing in training data can be amplified and sustained by AI systems, producing discriminating results. To make sure that AI systems in education promote justice and diversity, it is essential to have methods for bias discovery, varied and representative datasets, and regular audits. In order to prevent escalating educational inequities, equity issues must be prioritized. It is crucial to provide fair access and individualized support for all students because the digital gap and socioeconomic constraints may make it difficult for some students to utilize AI resources. Ethical principles emphasize how critical it is to remedy these injustices in order to level the playing field. Overall, the article promotes multidisciplinary collaboration, ongoing monitoring, and the responsibility of educators while highlighting the significance of ethical frameworks for AI inclusion in education. It emphasizes how ethical AI integration may improve educational results and experiences while respecting privacy, justice, and equity as fundamental values, ultimately paving the path for an ethical and just future for AI integration in education. Biased algorithms pose a significant threat, especially if used in admission or grading processes, as they could have devastating effects on students.
