La conception de la firme comme processeur de connaissances (original) (raw)
Revue d'économie industrielle, 1999
Abstract
By considering the firm as a knowledge processor instead of an information processor, we show in this paper that the dimensions of the theory of the firm (existence, coherence and frontier of the firm...) have to be reconsidered and become more adequate to experiments and facts. In a first part, we distinguish the conceptual differences between information and knowledge. In the second, we analyse the implications on basic concepts of industrial economics and finally, in the third, we discuss the consequences of these considerations on the theory of the firm.
