Group Counseling with Values Clarification Techniques to Increase Students' Respect

Individuals must own respect because it can be an internal controller in making logical decisions to behave by moral values. This study aimed to confirm the effectiveness of the values clarification group counselling on respect. This study used a repeated measure experimental design. The subjects in this study were 10 students at SMK Negeri 2 Mataram who indicated having a low category of respect. Data were collected using a respectful attitude questionnaire. Data analysis used repeated measure statistics ANOVA. The results of this study indicate that values clarification group counselling is effective in increasing student respect. Students' understanding regarding respect is inseparable from how to create good relationships between students and teachers as a form of creating a healthy and conducive school climate.

Improve Student Behavior Respect through Learner Model TPSR Judging from Assertiveness

This study was aimed to describe the effectiveness of Teaching Personal Social and Responsibility (TPSR) and Direct Instruction (DI) learning model to increase the student respect behavior seen from assertive. The research used experimental method in which the experiment group and the control group was selected randomly. This research used experimental methods with 2 X 2 factorial design. Cluster sampling was used to choose the sample. The sample was divided into experimental and control group. Both were given pretest and posttest. In this respect, the experimental group with TPSR learning model. The data collection was performed using respect and assertive questionnaires. The study involved 32 students, 16 students for experimental group and 16 students for control group, each of which was divided into 8 high assertive person and 8 low assertive person. Students’ Low Respect and Self-Regulation - Is TPSR the Solution?

This article examines the effect of TPSR (Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility) learning model on improving students' respect and self-regulation behavior in physical education learning. The research method used in this research is the experimental method, using Randomize Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 2 Padalarang, West Bandung Regency, with the 83 students (2 classes) as the sample, which consists of 52 girls and 31 boys that selected using cluster random sampling technique from the total population of 520 XI grader students. In this study, an instrument in a form of respect and selfregulation questionnaire was used. The results show that there is a significant increase in the students' respect and self-regulation behavior through the TPSR model. It can be concluded that TPSR model is suitable to be applied to Physical Education learning at school, especially to overcome the moral issues that happened lately in the aspect of the students' personal and social responsibility of their respect and self-regulation.

Integrating Politeness Principles and Strategies in Counselling Technique: A Phenomenological Study

Politeness is an important academic topic. An action must be taken to prevent rudeness. As a result, this study investigates how counseling techniques can modify students' behavior to be more courteous by implementing politeness tactics and concepts. Furthermore, the purpose of this study is to determine why counseling strategies may alter students' perspectives. The research was conducted using a phenomenological study using an observation checklist and interview guideline. The instruments were triangulated for validity. Data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion were all used in the data analysis. The findings revealed that Counselling Technique could have an impact on the outcome. The findings revealed that Counselling Technique had the ability to change students' conduct to become more polite. The students used negative politeness methods to consult with the instructors during its execution. Furthermore, students used all of the politeness standards, including the tact principle, generosity principle, modesty principle, approval principle, compassion principle, and agreement principle. In summary, the counseling strategy could be employed to help pupils with their behavioral issues

Self-Respect in School

This study aims to identify the values found in school and to verify which interactions favor the construction and/or maintenance of moral values, especially self-respect. Departing from the theoretical approach of Socio-historical Psychology, the investigation is based on the studies on morality conducted by Jean Piaget and Yves de la Taille. The study was conducted over two years in a 1st grade public school, with groups of teachers and students, as well as educational coordinator. We used classroom and school meetings observations, that were taped and transcribed. Content analysis was the methodological approach used. Some conclusions are that interactions promoting and not promoting the construction of moral values coexist in school, the second being the most frequent.

Understanding Self-Respect and Its Relationship to Self-Esteem

The concept of self-respect has received little attention in the psychological literature and is not clearly distinguished from self-esteem. The present research sought to empirically investigate the bases of self-respect by manipulating adherence to morals together with interpersonal appraisals (IAs), or task-related competence, in hypothetical scenarios (Studies 1a and 1b) and a situation participants relived (Studies 2 and 3). Participants’ levels of state self-respect and self-esteem were measured. Studies 1 to 3 found main effects of adherence to morals on self-respect, with self-respect mediating the effect of adherence to morals on self-esteem, but little support for competence and IAs directly influencing self-respect. Self-respect uniquely contributed to anticipated/felt self-esteem alongside competence or IAs. Dimension Of Self-Esteem Based On Guidance And Counseling Perspective

Self-esteem is an evaluation made by an individual to maintain everything related to what is expressed in an agree or disagree attitude and the belief to be able, important, successful and useful. This study discusses the self-esteem of children in terms of the entrance path to the school, namely zoning or non-zoning of seventh-grade at SMPN 1 Cimahi in the 2019/2020 school year. This research uses quantitative. The design used in this study is correlational with descriptive methods. The population of participants in this study involved 50 students consisting of 25 zoning students and 25 non-zoning students. The data collection uses one instrument, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale instrument.
