A New Approach to E-Learning (E-Web Class)

Student-Teacher relationship has evolved over the WEB CLASS. Through the use of internet, the interaction between student and teacher has increased. So through our project we will create a classroom portal which will provide students effective and interactive learning and at the same it will reduce the work of teachers. Our portal is a new approach of classroom learning. It provides an option for the teachers to upload teaching videos which are related to the topic taught in the class. It provides an opportunity for the students to ask individual doubts in the chat option. This feature is helpful for the students who are afraid to ask doubts in the class. Virtual education is an emerging concept. Here the classes are not taken face-to-face in a classroom but through an electronic medium as a substitute. These virtual classrooms are gaining importance every day and very soon they are going to be an integral part of our world. As the number of Internet access points are growing rapidly, E-Learning is also gaining a new peak. This electronic medium serves best for dissemination of information. E-Learning is proving itself as a boon for students especially for the disabled who are not able to go and attend the lectures. All these emphases the need for developing an Open Source software that can be used to generate rich multimedia presentation for E-Learning.

The Internet has enabled a great amount of information to be readily available and easily accessible. It has promoted several changes in the world, including in the education area. Nowadays, there is a great amount of educational and training systems, which provide different functionality according to specific administrative, pedagogical and technological approaches. Authoring tools, content repositories, evaluation and assessment, curriculum design and collaborative tools are some pieces of this educational "puzzle". This paper describes a generic architecture for educational and training systems from the software development point of view. Then this architecture is discussed according to web technology, enabling a better understanding of the involved technological aspects of educational and training systems.
A structured approach for creating WEB based teaching materials
All universities and training institutions are making significant efforts to make courses and teaching materials available on the Internet. Although the WEB provides a rich set of tools to support this process, to achieve learning efficiency is not trivial. This paper proposes a systematic approach for creating WEB based courses, which integrates learning objectives, pedagogical activities and technology. It also identifies the main decision making points about design and author for Internet delivery.
Innovations in Web Based Instruction
The World Wide Web’s potential to become a universal medium for educational resources has been recognized since its birth. Web-Based Instruction (WBI) is a method of creating a meaningful learning environment by using resources of World Wide Web. A Course Management System (CMS) is an education system based on the Web that models conventional real-world education by integrating a set of equivalent virtual concepts for tests, homework, classes, classrooms and other external academic resources. CMS allows an instructor to deliver Web Based Instruction without having technical knowledge of HTML or any other Web programming technologies. The purpose of this research is to explore theoretical and usability aspects of CMS by reviewing the existing research relevant to CMS. This research is a qualitative research. This narrative review is based on educational researches available on internet through Inflibnet. The findings of the research provide insight about CMS for Web Based Instruction. This will help to adopt the innovative concept for Web Based Instruction in higher education including Teacher Education.
Designing a course on the Web: The point of view of a training institute

This paper presents a methodology of courseware development that aims to build a global system of training on the Internet. Although the researchers' practice is based on a mix of constructivist and cooperative learning theory, it is noted that courseware would have to support other theories and practices in order to be transferable. Three spaces in which the activities of learners take place are identified-information space, action space, and communication space; the communication space depends on the institute and organizes the interactivity between the different spaces to correspond to a pedagogical practice. Following an introduction to the educational context of the project, these spaces are characterized according to technical and pedagogical points of view. Point-to-point asynchronous communication, group asynchronous communication, and interaction between the three spaces are also discussed. (Contains 11 references.) (DLS)
Web-based Creation, Development and Visualization of Multimedia Courses
The aim of this paper is to describe a set of tools for continuous training over the net, that basically consist of an "assistant" for the creation and development of multimedia courses, and a "browser" of the course previously created. The assistant provides an easy and intuitive way for course creation. A new course can be created, even by people without programming knowledge. The predetermined pedagogical structure allows a high quality presentation. Within the course contents, text, images, voice, digital audio and digital video can be added. Moreover, for the student assessment, activities, evaluation and comprehension tests can be included. The other tool, the browser, allows the visualization and navigation inside a course in a user-friendly way. One of the main features is the possibility of bi-directional electronic communication between students and the professor (chat, e-mail, ftp). The student state data can be received by the professor and the corresponding evaluation can be done. At last, we can say that the developed tools were used in several courses and more than 1000 students successfully followed them.
An Extensible Framework for Building Interactive Courses on Web

Abstract The World-Wide Web, the world's largest hypertext structure, has already in the last ten years a huge development. Recently, many worldwide consistent or semi-consistent collections of scientific data, in specific disciplines, have become accessible on Internet. These sources of information comply with a standard for interoperability. In this paper we propose an extensible framework based on XML (Extensible Markup Language) family for building interactive courses on Web.
Web-Com": Interactive Browser for Web-Based Education

We developed a Web-based education system called "Web-Com". It supports synchronous and asynchronous learning. It consists of an interactive web browser and voice server. Web-Com provides a multi-layer drawable canvas on which the user can draw annotations. Each layer can be shared with other users in real-time via the Internet to enable synchronous learning. In conjunction with the voice server, Web-Com can support voice communication. It can also replay the process of annotation in order, which enables asynchronous learning. Finally, a subject experiment is conducted to evaluate the scheme's workability and explore various issues that arise during the course of learning. The experimental results show that learners can learn fairly interactively with an instructor in a Web-Based class using Web-Com's synchronous style.
