Reading comprehension is considered as one of the most important skill of a language the study aims at investigating the reasons that affect the students' reading comprehension skill of secondary stage in English Language in southern region of Jordan. The sample consisted of (64) teachers, (27) males and (37) females which forms (36%) from the total number of the population. The results indicated that the highest effect on students' weakness in reading comprehension skill refers to the students' domain with a mean of (4.096), and standard deviation of (0.40). The teachers' domain came secondly with a mean of (3.604) and standard deviation of (0.82). The textbooks domain came thirdly with a mean of (3.551) and standard deviation of (0.64).The results indicated that there are no statistically significant differences on the level of (α≥0.05) attributed to the variables of gender, qualification, and the experience of the teachers or the interaction between the variables ...
This study was conducted with the participation of the students in the English Department at the University of Zawia, Libya. This study is designed to explore the reading strategy most often used among Libyan university students, to show how male and females use learning strategies when they face a text in English, and also to show the relationship between the learners' strategies use and their EFL proficiency. The results of the study show that the most frequently Reading strategies used was meta-cognitive strategies, there is a statistically differences between male and female learners in their use of language learning strategies. Furthermore, the results also show differences between students' level of proficiency and their use of language learning strategies.

The aim of this research is to find out the difficulties of reading comprehension faced by the first semester of students in FKIP UIR Pekanbaru. Kualitative research design in case study used in this research by using the instruments were questionnaire and interview guide. Based on the results of analyzing data from the questionnaire and interview, the reseacher found most of students’ difficulties in reading comprehension because they have no motivation in reading habit, they read a little or nothing. Assessing the Level of the Students’ Reading Comprehension Abilities and Its Difficulties

This study aimed to assess the student's reading comprehension level and the difficulties that the students faced in reading. The writer conducted this study at Senior High School 2 Pasuruan, especially the 11th-grade students in Language Programs. This study focused on the student's reading ability level and the difficulties that the students faced in reading. The writer used survey research designs in conducting this study. The participants of this study were 30 students. In collecting the data, the writer distributed closed-ended questionnaires, which consisted of 29 questions with a 4-point scale (always, sometimes, rarely, and never). The result showed that 47% of students faced many problems or difficulties understanding the reading text. This research analyses the factors affecting the English reading ability of 1,827 Mattayomsuksa 5 students attending both government and private schools in city and non-city areas of Amphur Mueang, Lampang province in the 2015 academic year. Purposive sampling of 78 students was utilized, and data were collected through a questionnaire, a reading comprehension test and interviews. Multiple factors affecting reading ability were determined and divided into the three internal factors of learning preferences, motivation, and attitude, and the three external factors of teaching techniques, texts and environment. Quantitative data were analyzed with descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation) and the reliability coefficient of Cronbach’s alpha was also deployed. This study was aimed to identify the reading comprehension difficulties encountered by some English Language students at Al-Zawia University, as well as to draw the students' attention to use reading comprehension skills which help in comprehending a text. The study sample consists of 100 students as participants. The data were collected by using reading comprehension test. The data collected from the test was analyzed statistically. The results of the analysis indicated that some English Language students failed to comprehend a text because they lack the reading comprehension skills, namely, getting the main idea, inferring meaning, and determining the meaning of vocabulary from context. This can be noticed clearly from the answers to the test. In order to find appropriate solutions to the difficulties which the students encounter, it has been recommended that practice and focus should be made on the reading comprehension skills.

The purpose of this research was to explore the English reading comprehension text difficulties among master level Saudi students to support the reading comprehension of students with reading difficulties. The literature is mixed in regard to the different difficulties students have in reading comprehension. The Research examined the specific problems faced by these students in the literature. A survey study was conducted. 120 master level students were the participants, with reading difficulties who participated in this study. Convenience sampling was used. The findings showed that the highest difficulties faced by Saudi students on reading comprehension text were vocabulary, reading speed and the less difficult problems faced by Saudi students on reading comprehension text was reading aloud by the students. However, it was recommended that the publishers should introduce supplements or bilingual glossaries, and there should be matching text with the learning material. Further, any planned reading aloud by the instructors for these master level students can produce good text comprehension. Nevertheless; linguistics and lexical knowledge were also recommended for these master level students.
