Orizzonti di cittadinanza. Per una storia delle circoscrizioni amministrative dell'Italia Unita (original) (raw)
2016
Abstract
This collective work deals with the history of Italian public territorial partitions, such as municipal districts, provinces, regions, giudicial districts, electoral districts and others, since the birth of the Italian national State onwards. It assumes that the geography of government has a strong political impact, since it shapes governmental action as well as the way citizenship participates in State building. This is all the more true for Italy, where the territorial element was always highly influential. The chapters follow districts' development both from a spatial and a political point of view, based on original research.
