Disaster of housing care amenities versus COVID-19 in urbanized countries: medication of social science

2021

In the background of the COVID-19 epidemic, a big portion of developed nations have suffered an exceptionally high human death toll residing in nursing care homes. In order to further explain this process, public epidemiology contributes significantly, due to the biological influence of the pathogen on as a core feature of wellbeing, disadvantaged high-risk communities and to the position of treatment. The catastrophe of deaths associated with COVID-19 in care centers is largely attributed towards its iatrogenic distribution and exacerbated by societal factors. Present segregation and containment measures have struggled to illustrate their efficacy in mitigating these trends, along with the extended alienation of tenants from their companions, and are thus excessive. Reforms that value for both protection interests of all citizens and fundamental rights must be substituted. Now about the dubious feasibility, these initiatives carry substantial costs of chances, because as standard o...

Analysis of housing construction and design techniques considering biosecurity parameters to mitigate the risk of contagation in the context of COVID-19

PROCEEDINGS OF THE 10TH WORKSHOP ON METALLIZATION AND INTERCONNECTION FOR CRYSTALLINE SILICON SOLAR CELLS

The COVID-19 pandemic caused by the spread of SARS-CoV-2 has exposed some deficiencies in the built environment to mitigate the risk of contagion. In the specific case of single-family homes, the cleaning and disinfection habits applied to avoid contagion have forced the inhabitants to modify or adapt spaces that fulfill this purpose, which were not thought from their design to disinfect people. and objects. To define the current disinfection requirements of single-family homes in a case study carried out in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador, surveys were used to identify the biosecurity habits carried out by the families within the study case, where They recognize aspects such as the transit area from the entrance to the home to the clean part of the house, the area used for disinfection, among others. With these data, a zoning of the areas that an existing home must have and the architectural suggestions to apply in each case was elaborated. A zoning of black or highly contaminated areas, gray 1, gray 2 and white area is proposed in similarity with the protocols used within laboratories, and the design suggestions are based on the relocation of spaces for personal hygiene, disinfection of objects, laundries and access routes.

Spread of COVID-19 from Community to Home

2021

The Covid-19 pandemic heightens a contrast between the safe home and the dangerous public space. One could have the most sanitary home imaginable and still carry infection into ones homes from public spaces where some careless persons might have left their germs behind. This paper provides early evidence how virus can penetrate the ‘safety bubble’ of a safe home. The emphasis on exacting individual precautions concerning wearing of masks, social distancing and frequent cleaning of hands are necessary attributes of modern health citizenship. The masses have to keep vigil on others and ensure adherence to such behaviours by people in public places. Public policy interventions could be of help.

COVID 19—A Qualitative Review for the Reorganization of Human Living Environments

Applied Sciences

The COVID-19 pandemic is changing people’s habits and behaviors and will reshape city layout and management. Among the different areas of research to be explored, the paper outlines first inputs to use the COVID-19 health crisis as a “window of opportunity” to trigger a sustainable transition of urban living environments, through actions to reshape and territorial organization after COVID-19 and in preparation for future health. Before having a vaccine or medications that ensure a non-lethal disease course, there will be a phase of responsibility and coexistence with the virus. It will be a period whose duration experts are still unable to quantify. What changes in the city organization, behaviors and uses of spaces will we observe in the living environments? Will this lead to a sustainability transition? The paper proposes a qualitative review to investigate how the droplet might travel through the air and how COVID-19 has spread in different urban contexts to outline a comprehensi...
