A Probe into the Achievement Motivation of the School-Going Adolescents of South 24 Parganas

Achievement motivation plays an important role in the life of adolescents.Achievement motivationis a disposition to strive for success in competition with others with some standard of excellence, set by the individual. To ascertain the descriptive status of achievement motivation of School-going adolescents, the present study was carried out through the descriptive survey method by administering Deo-Mohan Achievement Motivation Scale (n-Ach) (Deo & Mohan, 1985)on a random sample of 577 School-going adolescents of South 24 Parganas. In the test, there are 50 items and with each item, a 5-point Likert-type scale ranging from 0 to 4 is attached; higher scores reflect higher achievement motivation. It was observed that the mean and standard deviation of the scores were 134.16 and 26.983 respectively. The mean reflects that School-going adolescents felt above-average achievement motivation. A high level of achievement motivation promotes the success of School-going adolescents in their learning process. It acts as a driving force in their academic achievement. Most of the School-going adolescents of South 24 Parganas had neglected to study habits during the COVID-19 lockdown, hence their need for achievement (n-Ach) was average.
A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION OF SENIOR SECONDARY STUDENTS
Academic achievement attains by motivation. There is great need of motivation for students, because motivation effects the academic achievement of the students. The present study is about the academic achievement motivation of the children. Academic motivation involves measuring items such as work habits and scholastic expectation. Achievement motivation plays an important role to achieve educational goals of the students. It was found that Private school students had more academic achievement motivation than government school students at senior secondary level.

Achievement motivation can play a significant role in shaping the behaviour of students whether to acquaint their colleagues or take distance from then .while trying to excel during school years. Given this effect, the achievement motivation can be a major driving force in the student's life, school life and attract his/her teacher to show more acceptances for that student and school. Achievement motivation can be defined as the need for success or the attainment of excellence. There are different forms of motivation including extrinsic and intrinsic. Individual who are intrinsically motivated to use more effective learning Strategies and achieve at higher level. Thus we can say the need to achieve, is the spring board of achievement motivation. Our motive for achievement can range from biological needs to satisfying creative desires or realizing success a competitive venture. Achievementmotivated people will logically favour responsibilities that naturally satisfy their needs i.e offer flexibility and opportunity to set or achieve goals. Thus in present investigation is attempt will be made to study the achievement motivation among male and female of government and private secondary school students.

Academic achievement is a starting point for the students to succeed in learning. There are two main factors that contribute to succeed of the students’ academic achievement there are the achievement motivation and academic self-concept. Both are non-cognitive factors that can affect the academic achievements. This research aimed of testing the influence of achievement motivation and academic self-concept towards student academic achievement of junior high school in Malang. Sample of this study were 183 males and 210 female students. Showed that academic self-concept directly influenced academic achievement (0.153 with the significance of 0.022). Achievement Motivation among Secondary School Students
Achievement Motivation is the readiness of an individual to fulfill a planned objective, a strong motive characterized by ambition, high level of energy and a strong desire for independence. It creates a path way for passion that provides meaning and a clarified sense of identity that develops goal commitment, strategic intent and feeling of empowerment. Students are the builders of future nation and the world itself and they need enough motivation for their studies, so that they will work hard and develop positive attitude for their future studies and works. The present study aims to find out the extent of Achievement motivation among secondary school students and the study was conducted on 525 secondary school students. The results revealed that the level of achievement motivation among secondary school students in Kerala is not at all satisfactory; locale and type of management interact together to influence Achievement motivation and the three-way interaction of gender, locale and type of management on Achievement motivation is significant.

This paper examines the language attitudes of Minangkabau people toward Minangkabau language (MIN) and Indonesian (BI) in West Sumatra, Indonesia. The data were collected in the form of questionnaires, in-depth interviews and participant observation with a sample of 200 Adult respondents in six research areas. This research uses a Likert scale with the categories classified into five alternatives (1 = Strongly Disagree, 2 = Disagree, 3 = Uncertain, 4 = Agree, and 5= strongly agree) and there are some tables analyzed based on yes/no questions, no=0 and yes=1. There are twelve questions on the questionnaire pertaining to the attitudes of adults. The results show that the adult attitudes can be classified into three categories, (1) positive; (2) negative; and (3) ambivalent attitudes. The third category is dominant. Qualified education is the governments' desire in the effort to support skilled human resources. One indicator of successfully qualified education is the high-level learning outcome achieved by the students. Learning outcomes are important indicators for both teacher and student. One of the factors determining students' learning outcome is learning motivation. Motivated students tend to find beneficial and meaningful academic activities for themselves. This study aims to know the relation between learning motivation and learning outcome of Junior High School students in Yogyakarta. This study applies non-experimental research through correlational design. The population of this study includes 16 Junior High Schools in Yogyakarta. By using cluster sampling, this study takes 515 students as the samples. This study employs statistical analysis technique using regression analysis. The findings of this study show that learning motivation significantly relates to the students' learning outcome in Junior Highs School of Yogyakarta. The results of research recommend every counselor at schools to manage assisted learning program that can help students to motivate themselves in improving their learning outcome.

This quantitative study aims to investigate how intrinsic motivation affects students' performance in the Management degree at FEB Palangka Raya University. Purposive sampling was utilized to choose 123 students from the class of 2022 to participate in a survey. Participants' desire to learn was rated on a scale of 1–100 using the questionnaire, and their first-semester academic performance was evaluated using their individual version (IP) grade point average. EViews 12 was used to do the statistical analysis of the data. Students' grades (Y) were shown to be highly impacted by their level of learning motivation (X). The results of the statistical analysis, conducted using EViews 12, showed that there is a strong correlation between students' level of intrinsic motivation and their academic performance. The objectives of this study are to find out the higher secondary school students' level of Achievement motivation. The study consists of 200 higher secondary students studying at higher secondary schools located in Nagappattinam District of Tamil Nadu, India. The sample was selected by using simple random sampling technique. For the present investigation, the researcher used the tool constructed and validated by Muthee J.M. & Immanuel Thomas (2009) to assess the Achievement Motivation of higher secondary students. The finding shows that the higher secondary school students have moderate level of Achievement motivation.
