Biodiversity of gastropod in the Sombu Beach, Wakatobi, Indonesia

The Sombu Beach is located in Wangi-wangi Island, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. The beach is still natural and the substrates are dominated by fine sand and coral reef flat which is suitable for the habitats of gastropods. The aim of this research was to understand the diversity of gastropod in the intertidal zone of the Sombu Beach, Wangi-wangi Island. The research was conducted in January 2017 in the Sombu Beach, Wangi-wangi Island, Indonesia. The collection of the samples was conducted using quadrant plot method. Ten transects along the beach were made with four plots on every transect. So that, there were 40 plots data which were analyzed using Shannon-Wiener index of diversity (H'), evenness index (E), and dominancy index (D). The result of this research shows 13 species of classes Gastropods. The most abundant species in this study were Mitra sp. (86 individuals), Columbella sp. (40 individuals) and Conus sp. (35 individuals). The diversity index (H') was 1.8729, the evenness index was 0.7302, and the dominance index was 0.2071.
The Gastropods Diversity in Intertidal Zone at Sundak Beach District Gunung Kidul
Research Gastropods diversity and abundance conducted in intertidal zone at Sundak beach district Gunungkidul in January 2013 with the aim to determine the condition of the 1guuti. community in the Gastropoda. Observations used method of direct observation by dividing the intertidal region into 3 stations-Gastropods sampling *"0 ourra;;;;;, method. Gastropods had been observed in the intertidal beacir Sundak with total ;f g7 Gastropods, divided into 20 species included in 13 families. pardalina testudinariais the most 1lundant species. The largest Gastropods abundance at station II was 3.2 individu/m2. Diversity index of Gastropods relatively low ranged from 2.02 to 2.09, and the aomi.ran"" 3dex also relatively low ranged from 0.135 to 0.1i. vegetation gpes consists of 19 ,p""i., or intertidal macro algae and one species of sea grass. The most a6undant macro algae is (Jlva fasciata and the sea grass is Cymodocea rotundata. xcywords-'Gistropods, intergidar zone, sundak beach, macra arga, and sea grass.

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the diversity of gastropods in mangrove ecosystems of the western coast of Aceh Besar District, Indonesia. The sampling was done during March to April 2014 at four sampling locations and covered four villages namely Alue Naga, Kajhu, Neuheun and Ujung Batee. Three transects were determined at every sampling location and each transect had three plots (1 m x 1 m) and the gastropods were collected at the plots randomly by filtering the sediment using two level sieve. The study showed that Terebralia sulcata was the predominant species and this species was found at all of sampling locations. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index of gastropods was ranged between of 1.549 to 2.036, with an average value of 1.834. It was concluded that the diversity index of gastropods in western coast of Aceh Besar District was at low category.

The research about the biodiversity of gastropod has been conducted in seagrass meadow of Balangdatu waters, Tanakeke Island, South Sulawesi. The research aims to assess the diversity of gastropod species in Balangdatu waters. Sampling was conducted using quadrate transect method systematically. Three replicates of transect were applied for each station. The result indicates there were 34 species of gastropods from 14 genera and 14 families were found. Diversity index from every station varies from 1,661 to 2, 899. These values range from low to moderate. The diversity, Evenness, and dominance indices showed that Balangdatu waters still in good condition and sustain habitat for gastropod.

Pangandaran rocky shores have a unique ecosystem and a variant of invertebrate organisms such as mollusk from the gastropod class. This study aims to analyze the biodiversity of gastropods on the rocky shore of Karapyak beach. This research consists of 5 stations. The quadrant set by 1 m x 1 m vertically toward the sea. The result found 773 individuals scattered in nine families. The family of Neritidae dominated (43%), followed by family cyprinoids with 6.3%. Nerita plicata is a species found to dominate in every station with an average abundance (256 ± 10) and/m2. Using the Bray-Curtis cluster analysis, showed variations in the distribution and abundance of different gastropods vertically into the ocean and uniformly distributed horizontally to the shore. Substrate and tidal are the main variables in the spatial distribution of gastropods in the Karapyak beach.
Diversity and Abundance of Gastropods in the Intertidal Zone of Watukarung, Indonesia

We present the density, diversity, and environmental conditions of gastropods in the Watukarung intertidal zone ? a coastal region of Pacitan Regency, Indonesia, adjoining the Indian Ocean. Gastropods play an important role in coastal ecosystems. In Watukarung, the local people collect marine organisms, including gastropods during low tide to supplement their income. Baseline information on the presence and abundance of gastropods in Watukarung are not available. Our survey collected 173 individuals of gastropod in the intertidal area of Watukarung that represent 8 families, 9 genera, and 13 species. Gastropod diversity index (H') in the three beaches (Ngalorombo, Pasir Putih, and Kasap) show varying values from the categories of low and medium species diversity. Although the data suggest that there should be a dominant species in the ecosystem (E < 0.5), there are no strong dominance species in the community (C < 0.5). Biodiversity of Mollusks at Ela-Ela Beach, Sekotong Lombok Barat Indonesia

Ela-ela beach has wide seagrass ecosystem with sandy substrate. Sea grass is a habitat of various invertebrates including mollusks. Some mollusks live by burrowing in substrate and attaching to seagrass leaves. A study of mollusks diversity of Ela-ela Beach, Sekotong Lombok Barat regency NTB was conducted on July 2012. The objective of this study was to estimate the abundance and diversity of mollusks. Parallel quadrate transect was applied as the sampling methods. Ninety two individuals were collected and identified, consisting of Gastropods (29 species), Bivalves (6 species). The most abundant species in this studied area were Trachycardium rugosum (18 individuals) and Pyrene scripta (17 individuals). The Diversity Index (H') was 2.99, the Pielou Index (J) was 0.84, and the Margalef Index (d) was 17.31. Based on Odum (1994), the Diversity Index is moderate.

Krakal Beach is located in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. This beach is built by coral reefs. The coral reef is an ecosystem that can support various biota to live on it by being a habitat for many species, such as Molluscs. Mollusc is the phylum that has the most members after Arthropods. Approximately 60,000 living species and 15,000 fossil species belong to Mollusc. The phylum Mollusc is divided into seven classes, one of which is Gastropods. Gastropods are Molluscs that move with their abdominal muscles. Molluscs are so diverse, so this research is aimed to study the biodiversity of Molluscs in the intertidal zone of Krakal beach, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. The research was conducted on October 4th, 2019 at 03.10 WIB. The research held when ecological parameters were ±21.3 o C for water temperature, ±3.6% for salinity, and 7.5 for pH. The samples were collected using a purposive sampling method, preserved by using a dry preservation method, and identified by determining the morphological characteristics of the shell and referred to many references. This study found 7 families from the class Gastropod in the intertidal zone of Krakal beach, those are Aplustridae, Conidae, Cypraeidae, Mitridae, Muricidae, Nacellidae, and Turbinidae.

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the diversity of gastropods in mangrove ecosystem of Nirwana coast, Padang City, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The sampling was done during March to December 2014 at three sampling locations on 1 x 1 m of square transects. We recorded 15 species of gastropods belonging to 9 families, namely Cerithium sp., Cymatium muricinum, Littoraria scabra, Monodonta labio, Morula fusca, Natica sp., Nerita albicilla, N. chamaeleon, N. histrio, N. planospira, N. polita, Neritina sp., Terebralia sulcata, Turbo argyrostomus and T. cinereus where L. scabra was predominant in individual number (292 individuals/m) and it was found at all sampling stations. The diversity and dominance indices were in low category and eveness index was in high category. In conclusion, the condition of this ecosystem was stressful environment.
