Objective: The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between the emotional intelligence levels of nurses and their ethical attitudes in nursing care. Method: In the study, descriptive, cross-sectional research method was used. The sample of the study, which was carried out with the snowball sampling method between March-May 2023, consisted of 112 nurses. Data were collected online with the Sociodemographic Characteristics Form, the Emotional Intelligence Feature Scale-Short Form, and the Ethical Attitudes in Nursing Care Scale. Data were analyzed with SPSS 22 package program. Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U tests and Spearman correlation were used in the analysis. Results: 62.5% of the nurses were female and the mean age was 34.40±7.00. The median scores obtained from the scales were found to be 115.00 for ethical attitude in nursing care, 21.00 for emotional intelligence trait scale, 19.50 for subjective well-being, 20.00 for self-control, 16.50 for emotionality and 19.00 for sociability. A significant difference was found in the dimensions of the nursing care ethical attitude scale and emotional intelligence scale according to education level, and in the dimensions of emotional intelligence scale according to the total working year (p<.05). A high level of positive correlation was determined between ethical attitude in nursing care and total emotional intelligence (p=.000). Conclusion: It was found that the ethical attitudes and emotional intelligence levels of the nurses were above the average. It was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship between ethical attitudes and emotional intelligence levels in nursing care. As a result of the research, it is recommended to plan and implement initiatives to improve the emotional intelligence levels of nurses in order to increase the ethical attitude in nursing care.
