Abstract

In this paper a calculation model for the relation between local load and indentation depth, including internal pressure, is given. The formulas have been derived by means of theory of shells and theory of plasticity. Via coefficients and a few interventions these theoretical formulas have been adapted to the results of tests and the results of finite element calculations. The calculation model thus obtained is capable of predicting the real local load — indentation depth diagram in a sufficiently accurate manner.
