Maternal Risk Factors of Low Birth Weight (LBW): Systematic Review

Background: Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW) accounts for 60 - 80% of all neonatal deaths in the world. Not the only major predictor of mortality and morbidity in neonates, individuals with a history of LBW have a greater risk of experiencing various diseases such as hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes later in life. This systematic review study aims to identify maternal risk factors that contributing to LBW Method: Articles published between 2015 - 2020 in the Science Direct, Scopus and Cochrane library databases are systematically reviewed. Eleven articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included as samples for further review. Results regarding maternal risk factors for LBW events are synthesized systematically .Results: From the search results, there were 818 articles, after the screening process, the final results were 11 articles. Nutritional problem causes the death for mother and children indirectly but it can be avoided. Inadequate nutrition intake and the nutrition status for expectant mother during pregnancy can cause many disorder for mother and also for the children. The aim of this study is to know the relation of weight gain during pregnancy due to BBLR in central Metro district areas. This research is observational research with cross sectional study. This reseach conducted on October 2014 in Central Metro puskesmas. The population was the expectant mother that had done ANC examination in Central Metro district areas with total sample were 96 persons. Data analyze was using chi square.The result shown the mean of weight gain for expectant mother was 12,06 kg, the mean of neonatus weight in kecamatan Central Metro are normally 2726 gr with BBLR prevalence was 34,3%. There was significant relation between gaining weight of expectant mother during pregnancy due to BBLR in Kecamatan Central Metro areas with p = 0.000. Conclusion gainning weight of expectant mother during pregnancy related with BBLR.

Kenaikan berat badan ibu hamil bergantung pada perencanaan menu yang benar. Masukan gizi pada ibu hamil sangat menentukan kesehatannya dan janin yang dikandungnya. Janin sangat tergantung kepada ibunya untuk pernafasan, pertumbuhan, dan untuk melindunginya dari penyakit. Untuk mengetahui hubungan penambahan berat badan ibu selama hamil dengan berat badan bayi baru lahir di Klinik Budi Mulia Medika. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian yang bersifat explanatory research dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan melalui studi retrospektif. Penelitian dilakukan pada ibu yang mempunyai bayi kurang dari satu bulan di Kelurahan Sukajaya dengan populasi 35 ibu dan didapatkan jumlah sampel sebesar 35 responden. Penambahan berat badan ibu selama hamil sekitar 10 – 15 kg dan sebagian besar berat badan lahir pada bayi adalah sekitar 2.500 – 4.000 gram. Angka kematian bayi merupakan indikator dalam menilai tingkat pembangunan kesehatan dari suatu negara serta kualitas hidup dari masyarakatnya. Angka kematian bayi di Indonesia masih tergolong tinggi, kematian neonatal 50% terjadi pada bayi berat lahir rendah (BBLR) dan lebih dari 50% kematian bayi adalah kematian neonatal dini. Kejadian BBLR di RSUD Cilacap sendiri masih mengalami kenaikan tiap tahunnya. Tahun 2013 dari 360 kasus naik menjadi 406 kasus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan berat bayi lahir rendah dengan kematian neonatal dini di RSUD Cilacap tahun 2018. Anemia disorders that generally occur when pregnant women can cause baby abortion, premature birth and low birth weight (LBW), even stillbirth. The World Health Organization explains that around the world, especially in developing countries, cases of low birth weight births are 96.5% or ± 20 million babies. Latar Belakang: Kasus BBLR merupakan masalah kese hatan global yang menjadi perhatian pemerintah pasalnya penyebab kematian pada kelompok perinatal sebagian disebabkan oleh BBLR dan Asfiksia (Dinkes DIY, 2016). Berdasarkan data dari Dinas Kesehatan Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta tahun 2015, angka kejadian BBLR di Propinsi DIY tergolong tinggi yaitu sebesar 5,32%, dengan kejadian BBLR tertinggi berada di Kabupaten Gunungkidul sebesar 7,33 %. Babies born weighing <2,500 grams are called LBW, the risk of causing death is 20 times higher than normal birth weight babies. Maternal factors, pregnancy factors, fetal factors, placental factors, and environmental factors are risk factors for LBW. The purpose of the study was to determine the dominant factor causing the occurrence of LBW in the perinatology room of RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan. This research is descriptive with a cross sectional approach. The population, namely mothers who gave birth to LBW as many as 117 people from January-December 2020, a sample of 32 respondents was taken by consecutive sampling. Weight is an indicator of a newborn baby. Lower and excess newborn weight has higher risk of getting problems. The cause is nutritional problems; one of them is nutritional experienced by pregnant women with the lower hemoglobin level in the blood. The research was conducted at Independence Midwifery Practice of Dr. Putu Mastiningsih, S.ST., M.Biomed in Blahkiuh, Abiansemal, Badung, Bali. This research was descriptive analytical research with cross sectional design to investigate the correlation between maternal hemoglobin level and newborn weight. The subject of this research was maternal mother who did regular examination until having labor in 2019. The collected data were maternal hemoglobin level and newborn weight.
