Aim: The aim of this research was to study the effectiveness of schema therapy on two main components of marital life, marital satisfaction and quality of their relationship in order to reach methods and to develop these two components. Methods: Thirty subjects under study were chosen by convenience sampling from counseling and work centers in Shahin Shahr and then randomly divided into test and control groups. Enrich couples' marital satisfaction, Jerabek communication skills, and Young's schema questionnaires were used prior to and after the therapy. Data were analyzed by the multivariate analysis of variance and covariance using SPSS 18.0 (Released 2009. PASW Statistics for Windows, Version 18.0. Chicago: SPSS Inc). Results: Controlling the covariate variable, difference between the two tests and control groups for marital satisfaction, and marital relationship quality after the intervention are significant (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Schema therapy is effective in increasing marital satisfaction and marital relationship quality.

This study investigates the effectiveness of schema therapy on the marital agreement of client who attends counselling clinic centre services on region five of the city of Tehran. The population were all of the clients who attend the services during 2011 winter and looking for family counselling services. Among 14 clients, seven couple revised schema therapy and seven were under control group that they have chosen randomly from volunteers. The sympathy between couples and research hypothesis are investigated by covariance test. The result shows that schema therapy was effective to improve the effectiveness of schema therapy on marital intimacy between couples and could be a good method for family therapy for Iranian couples.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of schema therapy on expressing emotion and quality of women's marital relationship (Case study: women with experience of marriage under 15 years old). The research method was quasi-experimental with post-test pretest design and control group. The statistical population of the study included all women with marriage experience under the age of 15 who referred to welfare counseling clinics in Tehran, District 12 in 2020, which was available to 40 people and randomly selected in experimental and control groups ( Each group (20 people) were assigned. In order to collect information, emotion expression questionnaire (King and Emmons, 1990) and relationship quality questionnaire (Fletcher et al., 2000) were used. The experimental group underwent schema therapy (8 sessions of 90 minutes); But the control group did not receive any intervention. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance. The results showed that schema therapy was effective in increasing emotion expression and quality of marital relationship (p <0.05). According to the results, this treatment can be used to increase emotion expression and quality of marital relationship in women. He benefited from the couple's psychological and communication problems and in this way helped to reduce stress for these people.

Early maladaptive schemes are cognitive, emotional and self-injurious patterns repeated throughout the life. Family is a natural social system in which couples have major role in the all of stages of its development, and many factors play a role in their marital satisfaction. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of schema-focused couple therapy on marital relations conflicts applicant for couple divorce in Khorram abad city in 2012. The method is semi-experimental with control and experimental groups so that 20 couples (40 people) recruited randomly and categorized in two groups: the experiment group (20 couple) and control. Then schema therapy was performed for experimental groups in 20 sessions and the control group did not receive any treatment. At the end of the intervention period, both groups were tested. In the study, the early maladaptive schemas for Young (EMSs) and paired compatibility Busby et al (RDAS) was used and the data obtained were evaluated by means of covariance analysis. The find indicates the effectiveness of schema therapy in reducing marital conflict (f = 44.964, P =0.000 and Eta= 0.625) and also adjusting the early maladaptive schemas (f =80.256 and P=0.001 and Eta=0.709) couples are applicant for divorce. As a result, the use of schema-focused couple therapy in the work areas with clients for divorce can be maladaptive in the adjusting of schemas as well as increasing awareness and good reciprocal understanding and finally reduce the conflicts effectively.

The current study aimed to survey the effect of couple's schema therapy in reducing the tendency to divorce among divorce applicant couples. An experimental study was carried out in the form of single-subject design. The population study consisted of self-referential or referring couples to counseling centers as well as the counseling center of justice department. Three couples (wife and husband) were selected using purposive sampling method. Couple's schema therapy was conducted during 20 sessions with two-month follow-up. To collect data, demographic checklist and Rusbult tendency to divorce questionnaire were used. Data were analyzed using visual analysis, improvement percentage, reliable change index, and Cohen index. The findings showed that couple's schema therapy decreased tendency to divorce among divorcing couples and this reduction was clinically meaningful and statistically reliable (Reliable Change Index, RCI>1.96), The reduction in the tendency to divorce remained after two months and changes were clinically meaningful and statistically reliable (RCI>1.96), indicating the efficacy of couple's schema therapy in decreasing the tendency to divorce among couples.

Marital satisfaction is one of the most important factors in making progress in one's life and achieving life's goals. The role of communication in maintaining healthy and prolonged marital relationships is important. One of the internal psychological factors that play a role in marital satisfaction and the relationships of couples is early maladaptive schemas. Hence, this study investigated the effects of early maladaptive schemas and the communication styles of couples in predicting marital satisfaction among married students of Zanjan Azad University. A sample of 93 individuals was selected by convenience sampling method and evaluated by Enrich marital satisfaction scale questionnaire (EMS) (Fowers & Olson, 1989), Young early maladaptive schemas short-form (YSQ-SF) (Young & Brown 1998), and couple's communication styles questionnaire (CPQ) (Christensen & Sullaway, 1984). The information obtained from the samples was analysed by SPSS 22 software. Independent T test, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis were also used. The results showed a significant and negative correlation between subjugation schema (r=-.68), failure schema (r=-.52), and the total score of early maladaptive schema with marital satisfaction (r=-.55). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of schema therapy and schema-focused mindfulness therapy on marital communication among Iranian married women who lived in Malaysia from 2015 to 2016. The qualified participants were assigned randomly into three groups, i.e. two experimental groups which in order received schema therapy and schema-focused mindfulness therapy, and a control group which did not receive any treatment. The treatment sessions lasted nearly three months using marital satisfaction subscale from the ENRICH questionnaire, a demographic questionnaire and Young's schema questionnaire as the instruments. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA and ANCOVA were also employed for data analysis. The findings of the study revealed that schema therapy and schema-focused mindfulness therapy had a significant effect on marital communication of Iranian women in Malaysia. Moreover, the findings showed more improvement for schema-focused mindfulness therapy group at two months follow-up.

The present study is aimed to examine the effectiveness of schema-based couple therapy on adjusting early maladaptive schemata and increase if divorce applicants adaptability in Khoramabad Province in 2013. Research method was quasi-empirical with test and control groups. Sample of the study was randomly chosen among divorce applicants (20 couples or 40 people) and placed in two test and control groups. Then, schema therapy was administered for 20 sessions. Yang's Early Maladaptive Schemata Scale (EMSS) and Basby et al's Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS) were applied. In the end, data analysis was carried out using covariance analysis. Results indicated the effectiveness of schema therapy on adjusting maladaptive schemata (F=80.256, P=0.001, Eta=0.709) and also the increase of adaptability (F=21.041, P=0.001, Eta=0.389) for divorce applicants. Schema-based couple therapy in the work environment with divorce applicants can be effective in increasing the adjustment of maladaptive schemata as well as increasing the awareness and mutual understanding and finally in increasing the adaptability.
