The Development of Smart Parking System

The increasing of the number of vehicle ownership, parking has become the serious problem for several people. One of the problems is difficulty to looking for the empty parking space in the large parking area and also the amount of illegal parking car that does not follow the rules of the parking space dimension. In this paper, we proposed the smart parking system using the Internet of Things (IoT) that can be part of a solution for the parking problem. This system help in organizing the parking lot and helps the driver to reach their parking spots easily as they known which space is vacant. The parking space can be detected using an Infrared sensor that connects to the ESP8266 module that was programmed through Arduino IDE. Users can access parking space information using a smartphone via an application. Especially for users who have been registered before, they have a code for login the app as the requirement for security system and user parking convenience. The system can work with the purpose of the research appropriately.

Parking space is becoming a serious problem due to the day-by-day increase in number of vehicles on the road. To deal with such problems parking planning should be done. We are implementing an algorithm which will solve this issue. The algorithm will guide drivers to find and direct them to their respective parking space at the entry level. For this, we used sensors which are deployed at parking lots to check the availability of the respective parking space. Using wireless sensor network (WSN) parking lot is detected. Also data is transmitted to the database along with necessary details about vehicle. This system provide user with near instantaneous update of available parking spot. Therefore, time needed to search parking space that are caused by inefficient parking system will be significantly reduced. We hereby present the study of issues related to the different structures used and algorithms for smart parking system. With the successful implementation of smart parking, the economy and time costs related with traffic jams, cost of wasted gas fuel, and time wasted looking for an empty parking space that are caused by inefficient parking will reduce significantly.

Survey of Smart Parking System Enhanced with Current Technology

In the recent days, some parking lot systems are equipped with sensors and microcontrollers to automatically count the bikes parked in the lot. However, No such a parking system introduced for two wheeler vehicular parking system. The proposed system is suitable for sense the status of parking spaces. We can fix the smart device on two wheeler which displays the free or available slots on bike parking system and also provide a navigation system to display the dynamic updates on each parking slot. The central unit system continuously collets the data from parking unit and then it intimates the hourly message to the user about the tariff.

There is a dire need for a secure, intelligent, efficient and reliable system which can be used for searching the unoccupied parking facility, guidance towards the parking facility, negotiation of the parking fee, along with the proper management of the parking facility. Intelligent Parking Service is a part of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). This paper reviews different Intelligent Parking Services used for parking guidance, parking facility management and gives an insight into the economic analysis of such projects. The discussed systems will be able to reduce the problems which are arising due to unavailability of a reliable, efficient and modern parking system, while the economic analysis technique will help in analyzing the projects' feasibility.

In developing countries around the globe, the number of vehicle users has exceeded the optimum threshold and is increasing rapidly due to speedy economic growth. Consequently, roads are getting more congested in the cities. This has resulted in increased difficulties in meeting the minimum parking demands. Moreover, most of the parking lots are at the underground level of buildings. Due to the lack of natural light sources, there is a need for a massive power source to light up a large quantity of lighting equipment continuously. This results in waste of energy, equipment losses and causes a tremendous financial burden on property management. However, an IoT driven parking management can significantly aid in the utilization of parking resources. Availability of a sensor based smart parking spot with its location information identified and transmitted using wireless communication technology can immensely benefit the vehicle owners as well as parking spot authorities. It is a comprehensive solution both for the user and the owner of the parking space. Besides, it can fulfill the lighting requirement of the parking lot with minimized energy. Some eminent features of such IoT based systems are online reservations, user authentication for ensuring security, parking guidance, online payment, and energy saving. This paper reviews IoT driven smart parking management systems. It gives insights into various approaches for the parking system, related technologies, widely used components, communication standards and concerned system security issues. An Effective Approach for Smart Parking Management

Drivers and motorists get annoyed when it takes a long time to find a vacant space in a parking lot. Looking for parking has become a headache as the number of vehicles in urban cities and the cost of land concurrently increase. There is an urgent need for innovation in smart parking systems. Currently, investors and contractors pay laborers to operate and maintain smart parking systems. Staff duties may include opening and closing gates, giving directions to drivers and motorists, and managing payments associated with the lot. This article proposes a feasible, dependable, and smart algorithm for managing a parking system. This algorithm utilizes image processing techniques to provide real-time data. No labor is required to operate and handle the system. The system itself automatically handles all operations except maintenance. Furthermore, this algorithm is more cost-effective than other similar systems and equally effective. Numerous simulation scenarios were carried out on MATLAB to verify its developed approach. A comparison evaluation juxtaposes the proposed approach with other solutions in the literature. This evaluation clearly indicates that the presented method outperforms other solutions in terms of technologies being used, devices being utilized, and cost.
