Abstract

Weeds used as medicinal plants were surveyed in Shawar valley, Pakistan. Of the 49 weed species recorded (37, 6, 3 and 3 were herbs, shrubs, trees and climbers, respectively), 30 were used as traditional medicines. These medicinal plants were used in primary health care by the inhabitants of Shawar valley, including those who could not afford allopathic drugs.
