Social media stands as a pivotal communication medium, bridging connections between individuals and organizations globally. This research delves into factors like social media content, demographics, purchase motivations, attention drivers, duration on social media, and its relation to consumer perspectives within the apparel sector. Such insights elucidate the impact of social media content on shaping consumer perceptions in the fashion realm. Primary Data Sources, in the guise of a structured questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, provided the research data. The analysis incorporated feedback from 250 participants, with the questionnaire tailored to address the study's specific goals. Quantitative techniques deciphered the survey results, employing tests like Kruskal Wallis, Chi Square, and Wilcoxon to gauge consumer perspectives about apparel-related social media content, ascertain disparities in perceptions based on demographics and motivations, and evaluate the sway of social media content. The research deduced that content perceptions do differ based on factors like age, gender, occupation, and attention triggers. However, the time devoted to social media and purchasing motivations don't significantly influence these perceptions."

social media has become a component of the community that has been adopted in business operations, especially as a marketing tool in the retail fashion industry of Sri Lanka which is pushed by technological advancements. Social commerce derived through social media supports the user's comfort with occasions for seamless shopping experiences from discovery to checkout with virtual stores and in-app social commerce. Hence, the research problem of this study is to identify and analyze the impact of social media marketing that influence a person to purchase clothing brands in Sri Lanka. The research is carried out as a survey with a sample of 384 retail fashion consumers following a hypothetic deductive approach testing the hypothesis developed based on social media marketing. The results of the study reveal that social media marketing successfully influences fashion consumers to purchase clothing brands among other alternatives.

In this digital era, the internet, and Social Media (SM) has had a radical impact on the shopping behavior of “costumers” The SM provides a platform where “costumers” are exposed to the best product with the best price along with reviews and opinions about the merchandise. So, we can turn our heads and look at a brand in a way as if the brand is speaking to us. This study was an attempt to explore the Social Media Marketing Activities (SMMA) that are being used for the marketing of fashionable products like apparel and to what level the SMMA activities of brands truly strengthen the relationship with customers and motivate purchase intention. Moreover, SMMA has a robust application in developing a marketing strategy for business. It has become a significant tool that collaborates with businesses and people. It is concluded that the “costumer”-brand relationship does have a positive and statistically significant impact on consumers’ purchase intention through SM.

Not only they have a short attention span, they are also subtle in media consumption, indecisive in brand preference, and simply challenging to engage and entertain. Marketers spend millions in marketing research every year trying to predict, or anticipate, changing youth behaviors. It tries to understand the behavior of youth that whether their buying decision are really affected by the social media promotions done by the companies. ASSESSMENT OF THE ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON FASHION CONSUMPTION AMONG UNDERGRADUATES IN FUNAAB
The emergence of social media has transformed the world and its entire way of functioning, bringing the world and its people closer. Social media has changed the way in which people not only communicate, but also how industry advertise and reach their consumer. One industry which is considered to be perfectly suited and naturally fit for social media is Fashion. This study examines the Role of Social Media on Fashion Consumption among Undergraduates in FUNAAB. In order to achieve this, four specific objectives were raised and four research questions guided the study. Using multi-stage sampling procedure a total of 390 undergraduate students were selected from 5 (five) colleges in Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). A structured questionnaire was used to collect data for the study. The data collected were analysed using frequencies, Percentages and Means, while Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to analyse the hypotheses. Findings revealed that respondents have access to internet and have various social media accounts on platforms such as whatsapp, facebook, instagram, snapchat e.t.c which are used for various activities which include online shopping, chatting, promoting their businesses, getting news update, research and so on. The study also revealed how the social media has been able to influence their fashion consciousness and show that students are encouraged to buy a product of a brand after hearing POSITIVE public opinion about the brand on the social media and are discouraged to buy a product of a brand after hearing NEGATIVE public opinion about the brand on the social media. The study recommended that fashion merchandizers must be active online to acquire reliable consumers, by posting the latest fashion industry products on platforms so as to gain strong collaborations with customers.

The research is aimed to understand the influence of social media in marketing on brand awareness, which in the end influences purchase intention in the fashion industry. It uses a qualitative approach to study the three variables, namely social media marketing, purchase intention, and brand awareness. In this research, the needed number of samples are 270 respondents and data are processed using SPSS to conduct validity, reliability, normality, classic assumption, single, and multiple linear regression. Results from SPSS are also used in the Sobel Test. Complemented with secondary data from literature studies, the hypothesis is tested. From the test, every hypothesis has significant positive influences. In conclusion, a brand can influence purchase intention significantly by utilizing social media marketing. This works by stimulating brand awareness to consumers to influence purchase intention.
