SIMPLE MODEL FOR EVALUATION OF DAMBOVITA RIVER HEAT RECOVERY POTENTIAL (original) (raw)

2024, Advanced Energy: An International Journal (AEIJ)

Nowadays usage of renewable sources of energies is increasingly required in order to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions, and a great deal of interest is shown by low temperature energy sources. These "new" resources are either residual energies from industrial processes, or they could be gathered from natural resources, as well. Such is the case of the heat accumulated by the water of Dambovita's river during its crossing of Bucharest, especially in hot summer days, when river's water manifests high temperatures, with obvious not healthy consequences for its biotope. This creates the interest of studying the possibility of the heat recovery and usage in other municipal processes. Present paper aims to define a simple model of assessing the thermal potential of river Dabovitza and its recovery possibilities using a heat exchanger sunk in Dambovitza at its exiting section from Bucharest.
