Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Environment and Societal Trends

Babylonian Journal of Machine Learning, 2024

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly pivotal in addressing global challenges by integrating technological advancements into environmental conservation and societal development. This paper explores the dual nature of AI's role—its capacity to foster sustainability and societal improvement, alongside the challenges it introduces. The research highlights AI applications in environmental management, such as optimizing resource use, monitoring ecosystems, and enhancing renewable energy efficiency. In societal contexts, AI's transformative potential extends to healthcare, education, and urban planning, fostering equitable access to essential services. However, significant barriers, including data scarcity, limited technical infrastructure, regulatory gaps, and socio-economic inequalities, hinder widespread AI adoption. By analyzing secondary data from recent literature, this study identifies critical challenges and presents actionable policy recommendations to ensure inclusive, ethical, and impactful AI integration. The findings underscore the urgency of collaborative efforts among governments, industries, and academia to leverage AI for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing pressing global issues.

The Future of Artificial Intelligence

International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, 2022

We presen t a global Artificial Intelligence (AI) con ceptual framew ork, operationalization, and forecast to the year 2100. A series of AI indices were developed within the International Futures (IFs) integrated assessment platform, a quantitative macro-level system that produces dynamic forecasts for 186 countries. IFs models extensively interconnected aspects of global human development, including: agriculture, economics, demographics, energy, infrastructure, environment, water, governance, health, education, finance, technology, and international politics. We conceptualize AI in three categories: narrow AI, general artificial intelligence (AGI), and superintelligence. Today's AI consists of six basic and narrow AI technologies: computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, and reasoning. As an index score for all approaches 10, we forecast AGI technology to become available, representing it with a machine IQ index score, roughly analogous to human IQ scores. The emergence of AGI is constrained by the rate of improvement in and development of machine reasoning and associated technologies. When machine IQ scores approach superhuman levels, we forecast the emergence of superintelligent AI. The current path forecast estimates that AGI could appear between 2040 and 2050. Superintelligent AI is forecast to be developed close to the end of the current century. We frame the current path with faster and slower scenarios of development and facilitate analysis of alternative scenarios. Future work can assess the complex impacts of AI development on human society, including economic productivity, labor, international trade, and energy systems.

Artificial intelligence in today’s challenging world

2021

Artificial Intelligence refers to any machine that shows feature similar to human mind just like learning and problem solving. AI can take actions that have best chance of solving specific issues in an efficient way. Machine learning is a subset of Artificial Intelligence and refers to the idea of automatically learn and adapt new facts without getting any help from humans. Artificial Intelligence is developing day by day and performing Multitasking and making human work easy and helping human in a fast and efficient ways and gives better solution for complex problems. This paper will describe how AI is helping today’s world and also see what problem is also creating by AI in today’s world. This paper also describe the AI technologies uses in different areas in today world. We also discuss about how AI is useful in many fields but also damaging our environment and the damage is hard to fix and we also get the humans are the main problem. We have to change us to fix a problem.

A Role of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the Future World

IIIR India, 2022

Intelligence is the futurity of humankind". AI will be run the frugality of tomorrow. AI is undoubtedly the most significant entity that humankind has ever worked on. For the first moment, we calculate offers a distinguishable guarantee, commodities which are appeared like a zero-sum game today, may not be indistinguishable in the future. AI has advanced to the dynamic technology for staying competitive, but the AI is the futurity of all genres of goods and stuff.we call that, because of artificial intelligence and its capability to automate a given duties that in history were unsolvable to automate, not just will hold a big well-heeled society, but the rate of number will proceed upward truly significantly, and an advanced bit of people will hold career approximate to present.

Present and Foreseeable Future of Artificial Intelligence

We increasingly rely on AI-related applications (smart technologies) to perform tasks that would be simply impossible by un-aided or un-augmented human intelligence. This is possible because the world is becoming an infosphere increasingly well adapted to AI’s limited capacities. Being able to imagine what adaptive demands this process will place on humanity may help to devise technological solutions that can lower their anthropological costs.

Artificial Intelligence (AI): Multidisciplinary perspectives on emerging challenges, opportunities, and agenda for research, practice and policy

International Journal of Information Management

As far back as the industrial revolution, significant development in technical innovation has succeeded in transforming numerous manual tasks and processes that had been in existence for decades where humans had reached the limits of physical capacity. Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers this same transformative potential for the augmentation and potential replacement of human tasks and activities within a wide range of industrial, intellectual and social applications. The pace of change for this new AI technological age is staggering, with new breakthroughs in algorithmic machine learning and autonomous decision-making, engendering new opportunities for continued innovation. The impact of AI could be significant, with industries ranging from: finance, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, supply chain, logistics and utilities, all potentially disrupted by the onset of AI technologies. The study brings together the collective insight from a number of leading expert contributors to highlight the significant opportunities, realistic assessment of impact, challenges and potential research agenda posed by the rapid emergence of AI within a number of domains: business and management, government, public sector, and science and technology. This research offers significant and timely insight to AI technology and its impact on the future of industry and society in general, whilst recognising the societal and industrial influence on pace and direction of AI development.

may be expected to solve. 1 So, my forecast will be divided into two, complementary parts. In Section 2, I will discuss the nature of the data needed by AI; and in Section 3, I will discuss the scope of the problems AI is more likely to tackle successfully. I will conclude with some more general remarks about tackling the related ethical challenges. But first, let me be clear about what I mean by AI. 2 AI: a Working Definition AI has been defined in many ways. Today, it comprises several techno-scientific branches, well summarised in Corea (Aug. 29, Corea 2018) in Fig. 1. Altogether, AI paradigms still satisfy the classic definition provided by
