Abstract

ABSTRACT Tracheal trauma is rare, however if it is severe, it may be mortal. The diagnosis and treatment have close relationship with associated injuries. He suffered from severe pain his neck anteriorly where crepitation was palpated, and a computerized tomography revealed a laryngeal injury. Since no obstruction was observed on the airway, the patient was conservatively treated medical therapy, and was discharged from hospital on seventh day. We believe that tracheal injury should be considered in patients who had neck trauma.In this paper, a 38 year-old male admitted to our emergency department after a traffic accident and treated with tube thoracostomy and drainage for left hemopneumothorax is presented. OZET Trakeal yaralanma seyrek olarak gorulur, ancak ciddi bir hasar varliginda mortal seyredebilir. Bu hastalarda eslik eden patolojiler tani ve tedavi surecini etkilerler. Gecirdigi trafik kazasi sonrasinda basvurdugu acil poliklinigimizde sol hemopnomotoraks saptanmasi sonrasinda sol tup torakostomisi ve sualti drenaji uygulanan hasta, daha sonra saptanan trakeal yaralanma nedeniyle konservatif olarak takip edilmis ve yatisindan 7 gun sonra sifa ile taburcu edilmistir. Sonuc olarak servikotorakal kunt travmali hastalarda trakeal yaralanma olasiligi goz ardi edilmemelidir.Bu yazida, kunt travma sonrasinda boyun on tarafinda hissedilen krepitasyon ve boyun agrisi nedeniyle cekilen toraks bilgisayarli tomografisinde trakeal yaralanma saptanan hasta medikal tedavi ve konservatif yaklasimla tedavi edilen 38 yasindaki erkek bir hasta sunulmaktadir.
