Artificial intelligence [AI] is essential, especially in education. However, students still need to be more modest about utilizing it as a tool in the learning process. This study investigated the students' attitudes toward AI, the level of AI literacy, and AI self-efficacy. Also, the study intends to determine the predictors of student attitudes toward AI. Using a cross-sectional research design, the study assessed the perspectives of 708 voluntary students using a purposive sampling technique. With the help of Google Forms, the proponents used an online survey to gather the necessary data for the study. After collecting enough data, the data analyst employed descriptive and inferential statistics. Results show that regarding attitudes towards AI, the cognitive component got a remark of "agree"; however, in the case of affective and behavioral components, they both garnered a "moderately agree" remark. The students' AI literacy was "moderate," and their AI self-efficacy was the same. Also, the study observed significant variations in the perspectives, attitudes toward AI (use of any form of AI in learning, college/ department, year level, and gender), and levels of literacy (available gadgets at home, use of any form of AI in learning, and gender) and self-efficacy (available gadgets at home, use of any form of AI in learning, and gender). Moreover, the statistical analysis also showed a low to moderate relationship of student attitude, literacy, and selfefficacy. Linear regression confirmed the relationships between AI literacy and AI self-efficacy as significant predictors of student attitudes toward AI. The proponents offered some implications at the end of the study.

Introduction. The development of information technology (IT) and artificial intelligence (AI) are significantly changing the modern world, which raises the question of the impact of these technologies on humankind. Theoretical analysis. Research on human-IT interaction is most often determined in terms of benefits for education, threats in terms of harm to health, including psychological health, and the formation of addictive behavior. However, the sphere of attitudes towards AI has been researched insufficiently. The purpose of the study is to identify the perception of young people about artificial intelligence and attitudes towards it. Conclusions. The study is based on the method of a written questionnaire survey among students of humanitarian and social areas of study. The obtained results allow us to conclude that among young people there is no clear understanding of the differences between AI and algorithmic computer programs, the practical skills of using developed well, how...

Artificial intelligence (AI) drives new modes of learning and improves the workflow of instructors. Nevertheless, there are concerns about academic integrity, plagiarism, and the reduction of critical thinking in higher education. Therefore, it is important to record and analyze university social sciences students’ attitudes toward AI, which is a significant predictor of later use of AI technologies. A sample of 190 university students (82.45% female) from a Greek social sciences department was selected. Descriptive statistics revealed that students’ attitudes toward AI were mostly positive. A principal components analysis confirmed a three-component solution of attitudes toward AI, comprising cognitive, behavioral, and emotional dimensions. Comparative analysis of the three components indicated that the emotional dimension was the highest ranked, followed by the cognitive and behavioral dimensions. Pairwise correlation analyses revealed that the strongest correlate of cognitive, behavioral, and emotional components of attitudes toward AI was the future frequency of AI use, followed by general feelings of safety with technology. In conclusion, students display more emotional and cognitive favorable dispositions toward AI. The social background of the students and the prospective future use of AI play a key role in the formulation of attitudes toward AI. University educators need to provide more teaching and learning about AI to improve students’ attitudes toward AI and future AI use.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a trending topic of study, especially in education. However, due to its unknown potential, students are adamant about it. The objective of this study is to investigate college students' perceptions of artificial intelligence (AI) anxiety, AI self-efficacy, and AI self-competence in a tertiary education institution. The study used a correlational research design with the help of an online survey to determine the variances and relationships among 1,030 purposively chosen students. This study adopted and modified measures that underwent reliability testing to gather data. The collected data were subjected to descriptive and inferential analysis using SPSS 23 for data computation. Results show that students have a moderate level of AI anxiety and AI self-efficacy; however, in terms of AI self-competency, they have a high level of it. Inferential analysis also revealed significant differences when the three variables were grouped according to demographic characteristics. At the same time, the study also found significant associations between AI anxiety, AI self-efficacy, and AI self-competence. The regression analysis confirmed that learning, job replacement, sociotechnical blindness, and AI configuration significantly influenced AI self-efficacy. On the other hand, job replacement, sociotechnical blindness, and AI configuration also predict AI self-competence. The study concludes that variances and relationships exist among AI anxiety, self-efficacy, and selfcompetence among college students.

The growing significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across different fields highlights the essential role of user acceptance, as the success of this technology largely depends on its adoption and practical use by individuals. This research aims to examine how perceived cybersecurity, novelty value, and perceived trust affect students' willingness to accept AI in educational settings. The study's theoretical basis is the AI Device Use Acceptance (AIDUA) model. Using structural equation modeling, the study tested hypothesized relationships using data from 526 students at Jordanian universities. The results showed that social influence is positively associated with performance expectancy, while perceived cybersecurity is positively related to both performance and effort expectancy. Novelty value is positively associated with performance expectancy but a negative one with effort expectancy. Additionally, effort and performance expectancy significantly influence perceived trust and the willingness to accept AI. Moreover, perceived trust has a notable positive effect on the willingness to accept AI in education. These findings provide valuable guidance for the creation and improvement of AI-driven educational systems in universities, contributing to the broader understanding of AI technology acceptance in the educational field.

Undergraduate students’ attitudes towards Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing countries like Vietnam are rarely explored despite AI’s increasing presence in higher education. This study aims to investigate the attitudes of undergraduate students towards AI. A quantitative research method was used, involving a self-reported survey questionnaire. The sample consisted of 460 undergraduate students (196 males and 264 females) from five public and private universities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Data collection took place through a cross-sectional survey in November and December 2023. The General Attitudes Towards Artificial Intelligence Scale (GAAIS), originally developed and validated in English by Schepman and Rodway (2020), was adapted to Vietnamese for this study. The scale comprised 20 items to evaluate students’ attitudes towards AI. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, t-tests, and one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results indicated a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.705 for the total variable, demonstrating acceptable reliability. Consequently, Vietnamese undergraduate students displayed moderately positive attitudes towards AI. The findings also revealed no significant difference in attitudes based on gender, but there was a notable variation based on the student’s year of study at university.
