Brazil has experienced an increase in the number of higher education institutions in the larges cities. candidates may have modified their decision criterion on the basis of accessibility, given the difficulties to mobility in the metropolitan region. Thinking about this scenario, the PUC Minas created Education Units on the axes of the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte offering the same courses. However, this expansion may show the community the difficulties of acceptance for having remained for many years, with its exclusive headquarters in Coracao Eucaristico. Thus, this research presents the results of a survey conducted with students of IES on the reason for choosing the unit of PUC Minas, upon its entry into the institution. The results show that students choose the unit, especially because of the location, confirming the principle of accessibility as choice of higher education institutions.
