Mapping intensity and distribution of grapevine chlorosis (original) (raw)

2009

Abstract

One of the main abiotic stresses is the lack of microelements which influences the growth and development of grapevine cultivated on high pH value carbonated soil. Chlorosis phenomenon often appears in the vine-growing Podunavlje sub-region on carbonated soil with loess being the main substrate. It often appears due to a lack of plant nourishing elements in the soil, or because of their inactivation. The aim of this research was to determine the intensity and the space distribution of different chlorosis types on the grapevine by mapping using chlorophyll meter and GPS as well as chlorosis degree (where the estimating scale of chlorosis ranged 0-5), and to visualise the data by GIS technology. High ratio of relative chlorosis was determined on the researched area. It was found out by the microelements deficit, mostly iron.
