A Review Paper On Microstrip Patch Antenna

Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research), 2023

Dual or multiband antenna has been playing a crucial role for communication in this rapidly evolving wireless communication world. Antennas are based on transmission or reception of electromagnetic waves. Microstrip antennas have several advantages over conventional microwave antennas and is widely used in various wireless communication systems due to its compact size, low profile, and ease of integration with other electronic components. It consists of a thin metallic patch, typically made of copper, mounted on a dielectric substrate, which is usually a thin layer of fiberglass or ceramic material. The patch is fed by a coaxial cable or a microstrip transmission line, which is connected to a feeding point on the patch. The radiation pattern of the antenna is determined by the shape and dimensions of the patch, as well as the substrate material and thickness. Microstrip patch antennas can be designed to operate at different frequencies, and can be used for various applications such as in mobile phones, wireless routers, and satellite communication systems. This paper presents a review of Microstrip antennas with different feeding techniques.

Design and Simulation of Microstrip Patch Antenna

2017

In this paper, a rectangular measured microstrip fix receiving wire is outlined and created and subsequently the outcomes are recreated utilizing IE3D. In media transmission, there are a few sorts of microstrip receiving wires, the most widely recognized of which is microstrip fix reception apparatus since they are light weight minimal effort radio wires. These are low profile receiving wires which can be incorporated with printed circuit board. They are frequently mounted on the outside of air ship as a result of their position of safety and toughness include. Basic microstrip receiving wire shapes are square, rectangular, round and circular. Rectangular is a standout amongst the most well-known sort and frequently utilized as a part of the millimeter wave recurrence run. It is roughly of one-half wavelength long.

Design and Development of Microstrip Patch Antenna

International Journal of Antennas (JANT), 2017

A Microstrip Patch Antenna is a type of radio antenna with a low profile, which can be mounted on a low surface. It is a narrow band, wide-beam fed antenna fabricated by etching the antenna element pattern in metal trace bonded to the dielectric Substrate such as a printed circuit board with a continuous metal layer bonded to the opposite side of the substrate which forms a ground plane. The main aim of this work is to design, develop and test the Printed Circuit antenna (Microstrip Patch antenna) suitable for use in L-band frequency range of 1-2GHz. This study also emphasizes on simulation of micro-strip patch antenna using IE3D software to simulate & study the radiation pattern & other radiation pattern parameters and comparison with specifications/requirements. Co-axial Feed technique was adopted and the location of the feed point was varied within the radiating patch to arrive at the point of minimum return loss. This work is also focused on characterization of fabricated antenna in view of parameters like VSWR, Antenna efficiency, Axial ratio, Gain and radiation pattern.

Study and Design of Microstrip Antenna

International Journal of Science and Research (IJSR)

This paper is about the theoretical and practical study of Microstrip antennas. In the paper we have simulated the results of two rectangular microstrip patch antenna and fabricated them into a single patch that works on multi frequency operations. For the same we have taken two antennas of frequency 9 GHz and 5.67 GHz and impedance matching is done at 50ohm. The feed is coaxial feed with corner excitation The antennas after being rearranged with corner excitation is investigated for operating frequency, return loss and radiation pattern. The rearranged structure shows reduction in resonant frequency. The pattern of radiation seems to be almost same. The frequency of the rearranged antenna is perceived to have increased from before. The whole simulation work is done on HFSS software.

International Journal of Engineering Applied Sciences and Technology

A microstrip patch antenna is a type of radio antenna that can be mounted on a lower surface. The microstrip patch antennas are widely used in low cost wireless communication applications because they have distinct several benefits as compared to the traditional antennas. In this paper, the design and development methodology of microstrip patch antenna having Hshaped and using the FR4 substrate with 1 mm thickness has been discussed. The antenna parameters such as gain, bandwidth, return loss, and radiation pattern has been analysed on LED3 software. Other types of microstrip patch antennas can be designed using this methodology and the performance can be evaluated as required for a specific application.
