In this paper we report two new records of the rare limnephilid species Potamophylax rotundipennis (Brauer, 1857) from the Balkan peninsula, more precisely from the republic of Kosovo. the first sampling station is located around the spring area of the only stream inside Blinajë hunting reserve in central Kosovo, and the second one in the middle section of the turuqicë tributary of the Llap river in northern Kosovo. from Blinajë hunting reserve we also report stenophylax permistus McLachlan, 1895 for the first time from the republic of Kosovo. u ovom radu su prikazana dva nova nalaza rijetke vrste porodice Limnephilidae, Potamophylax rotundipennis (Brauer, 1857) s Balkanskog poluotoka, točnije iz republike Kosovo. prvi lokalitet se na-lazi na izvorišnom području jedinog potoka unutar lovnog rezervata Blinajë u središnjem Kosovu, a drugi na srednjem dijelu pritoke rijeke Llap, turuqicë, na sjeveru Kosova. u Blinaji je također utvrđena po prvi puta na području Kosova vrsta stenophylax permistus McLachlan, 1895.

The distribution of Mesophylax aspersus Curtis, 1834 (Trichoptera Limnephilidae) ranges from Western Europe, Mediterranean region, Madeira, Canary Islands and up to Southwestern Asia. According to the present knowledge it is however almost absent from Southeastern Europe. In this paper we present first record of M. aspersus from the Republic of Kosovo. This is at the same time first country record of the genus. Unlike many countries where this species is present abundantly in our case it is extremely rare. A single adult male specimen of M. aspersus was found in an ultraviolet light trap at the Blinajë Hunting Reserve on August 23rd 2013. This has been a single specimen of this species caught at this locality during a one year monthly sampling of caddisflies with UV light traps and entomological net. The Sharr Mountains are one of the most important hotspots of terrestrial and freshwater biodiversity in the Balkan Peninsula, with many endemic and rare species. The caddisfly studies in this area increased during the past years, although insufficiently investigated areas still remain. In this paper, we describe a new species, Potamophylax humoinsapiens sp. n. from the Sharr Mountains in the Republic of Kosovo, which is morphologically closest to Potamophylax idliri Ibrahimi, Bilalli & Kučinić, 2022 and Potamophylax juliani Kumanski, 1999. The males of the new species differ from all known species of the Potamophylax winneguthi Species Group by their uniquely-shaped parameres, which are long, bulbous in their basal half and thin in the remaining length, with a bunch of very thin and long, hair-like spines, grouped uniformly at the apex. In this paper we describe Drusus sharrensis sp. n., from the Sharr Mountains in Kosovo. Males of the new species are morphologically most similar to Drusus krusniki Malicky, 1981, D. kerek Oláh, 2011 and D. juliae Oláh, 2011 but differ mainly in exhibiting (1) a differently shaped spinose area on tergite VIII; (2) intermediate appendages anteriorly curved in lateral view with broad tips in dorsal view; (3) inferior appendages with a distinct dorsal protrusion in the proximal half. Females of the new species are morphologically most similar to D. krusniki, D. kerek, D. juliae, and D. plicatus Radovanovic, 1942 but mainly differ in (1) segment X that is longer than the supragenital plate with distinctly pointed tips; (2) supragenital plate quadrangular with a distinct round dorsal protrusion; (3) a vulvar scale with a small median lobe. Trichoptera biodiversity of the Aegean and Adriatic sea basins in the republic of Kosovo

We present the first preliminary inventory of Trichoptera taxa in the Aegean and Adriatic Sea basins in Kosovo that have previously received poor and fragmentary attention. Adult caddisflies were collected using ultraviolet (UV) light traps in 13 stations in areas of the Aegean Sea and Adriatic Sea drainage basins in Kosovo. Nineteen species out of 82, reported in this article, are first records for the Kosovo caddisfly fauna. Five genera are recorded for the first time in Kosovo: Brachycentrus, Ecclisopteryx, Psilopteryx, Thremma, and Oecetis. During this investigation, we found several Southeastern European endemic and rare species whose previous known distribution was limited to particular areas of this region, as well as other species whose distribution is considerably enlarged by this investigation: Polycentropus ierapetra, Polycentropus irroratus, Chaetopteryx stankovici, Drusus schmidi, Drusus tenellus, Potamophylax goulandriourum, Oecetis notata, and Notidobia melanoptera. This paper presents the distribution of two species of the genus Ecclisopteryx in Croatia based on literature data and the new records: E. keroveci and E. ivkae. The species E. ivkae was recorded at eight sites in the catchment area of the Cetina river, while E. keroveci occurs within the catchment area of the Kupa river and along the Veličanka river. Due to the restricted distribution, we proposed conservation and protection measures for both species.
New additions to the caddisfly fauna (Insecta: Trichoptera) of the Sharr Mountains in Kosovo

Adult caddisflies were collected in the Opojë Region belonging to the Sharr Mountains in Kosovo from May to October 2013. This mountainous area which is known for many endemic and rare species of plants and animals is still not enough explored in terms of caddisfly fauna.A diverse fauna consisting of 11 families and 43 species was found. Three species found during this investigation are first records for the Kosovo caddisfly fauna: Limnephilus lunatus, Micropterna lateralis and Plectrocnemia geniculata. The stenoendemic species Chaetopteroides kosovarorum is found for the second time in Kosovo. Several other rare species were recorded during this investigation.
