This research explores the effective coordination of regional rail transport, urban development, and stations through the implementation of "contrats d'axe" in France. Highlighting the necessity of integrating transportation and urban planning for sustainable urban development, the study discusses the barriers stemming from institutional fragmentation and political dynamics. It examines specific regional projects, illustrating the challenges and opportunities in reconciling transport infrastructure with urban policies, proposing a cohesive approach to enhance urban density and public transport utilization.
