High-p~ T Pion Production in Heavy-Ion Collisions
Perturbative QCD results on π production are presented in proton-proton, protonnucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions from CERN SPS up to RHIC energy. A K jet (s, p T , Q) factor obtained from jet production is applied to perform nextto-leading order calculations. Using the intrinsic transverse momentum (k T ) we determined transverse momentum spectra for pions in wide energy region. We have investigated nuclear multiscattering and the Cronin effect at RHIC energies.

Parameterized Cross Sections for Pion Production in Proton-Proton Collisions

An accurate knowledge of cross sections for pion production in proton-proton collisions finds wide application in particle physics, astrophysics, cosmic ray physics, and space radiation problems, especially in situations where an incident proton is transported through some medium and knowledge of the output particle spectrum is required when given the input spectrum. In these cases, accurate parameterizations of the cross

Production of charged pions, kaons and protons at large transverse momenta in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at √ s NN = 2.76 TeV .ALICE Collaboration * a r t i c l e i n f o a b s t r a c t (60-80%) and central (0-5%) Pb-Pb collisions at √ s NN = 2.76 TeV have been measured using the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The proton-to-pion and the kaon-to-pion ratios both show a distinct peak at p T ≈ 3 GeV/c in central Pb-Pb collisions. Below the peak, p T < 3 GeV/c, both ratios
