The Sandia pulsed power machine, Z, has developed into a unique test bed with unique targets, many of which incorporate foam components. These foam components must be very low density (5 - 14 mg/cm3), uniform and must meet tight dimensional tolerance. The experiments can also require an embedded diagnostic or capsule.
