EVALUATION OF SOME OPERATIONAL CONTROL RULES IN SCHEDULING FLEXIBLE MANUFACTURING SYSTEM (original) (raw)
In this paper a combined routing, planned, unplanned interruption ratios, and dispatching mechanisms have been considered to study the interactive process between them on the performance criteria of functional flexible manufacturing system. The study has been implemented on a system producing four part types. Eight configurations of different route flexibility index and variable due date are considered. Sixteen dispatching mechanisms are used per each interruption ratio of the six ratios under consideration. A mathematical formulation for the expected due date based on the model configuration and good performance achievements has been derived in the presented study. The dispatching mechanism that will perform the best for each measuring performance criterion has been determined. General remarks and conclusions are presented.
