Alcohol Detection in Car (original) (raw)

Design and implementation of an alcohol detection driver system

A technology called an alcohol detection driver system is used to stop drunk driving by identifying alcohol in a motorist's breath or blood. This technology correctly measures the amount of alcohol a driver has in their system using sensors and algorithms, and it stops the car from starting if the amount is more than the legal limit. The number of fatal accidents and traffic fatalities caused by drinking could be greatly decreased thanks to this technology. The main focus of this project is to carry out the experiment in lowering the number of alcohol-related incidents on the road. Alcohol detection devices come in a variety of forms right now, including ignition interlocks, passive alcohol sensors, and in-car breathalyzers. Although these systems have reduced the number of drunk driving accidents, there remain questions about their efficiency, dependability, and cost. According to the sensor's specs, the output voltage of the MQ-3 sensor reduces by 69% during the sensor's recovery period of 30 seconds at 69% of baseline resistance. To assess the long-term viability and efficiency of these systems in lowering alcohol-related accidents and enhancing traffic safety, more research is required.

INTELLIGENT ALCOHOL DETECTION SYSTEM FOR CAR

The purpose of this project is to develop vehicle accident prevention by method of alcohol detector in an effort to reduce traffic accident cases based on driving under the influence alcohol. This project is developed by integrating the alcohol sensor with the microcontroller 16F877A. The alcohol sensor used in this project is MQ-2 which to detect the alcohol content in human breath. An ignition system which will produce spark plugs is build up as a prototype to act like the ignition starter over the vehicle's engine. The ignition system will operate based on the level of blood alcohol content (BAC) from human breaths detected by alcohol sensor. The main purpose behind this project is " Drunk driving detection ". Now a days, many accidents are happening because of the alcohol consumption of the driver or the person who is driving the vehicle. Thus Drunken driving is a major reason of accidents in almost all countries all over the world. Alcohol Detector in Car project is designed for the safety of the people seating inside the car. This project should be fitted / installed inside the vehicle.

Design and Development of Alcohol Detection Monitoring and Ensuring Safe Drive in Automobiles

International Journal of Scientific Research in Science, Engineering and Technology, 2019

The main purpose behind this project is “Drunk driving detection”. Now a day, many accidents are happening because of the alcohol consumption of the driver or the person who is driving the vehicle. Thus, drunk driving is a major reason of accidents in almost all countries all over the world. Though there are laws to punish drunken drivers they cannot be fully implemented. Because traffic police cannot stand on every road to check each and every car driver or bike whether he/she has drunker not. This can be a major reason for accidents. So, there is a need for a effective system to check drunken drivers. Therefore, this study proposed an efficient technique for eradicating the upsurge in the number of cases of roads accidents caused by excessive intake of alcohol by the drivers.

Alcohol Detection System in Vehicle for Human Safety

In this paper the objective is to design a system that detects the state of the driver before he takes the control of the vehicle. Where the system takes driver breath as the input to the MQ3 sensor. With the combination of the Arduino UNO and GPS& GSM Module for the communication purpose to send the alert message and location of the vehicle to the near ones and LCD display to show the present state of the driver and by using ESP 8266 Wi-Fi module to check and communicate the data through web page

Alcohol Detection System to Reduce Drunk Driving

International journal of engineering research and technology, 2021

Due to the rapid increase of vehicles on roads, the probability of road accidents is rising steeply. Drunk driving is considered to be a major cause of road accidents throughout the world. The main aim of this project is to develop a system that would detect the amount of alcohol that is consumed by the driver of the vehicle. The proposed system aims at preventing the user from driving when drunk and thereby intends to reduce the number of accidents occurring due to drunk driving. The proposed model is developed using Arduino Uno and alcohol detection sensor (MQ-3) as its major components. As a safety measure, when the level of alcohol crosses a permissible limit, the vehicle ignition system (DC Motor) will be turned off and the concerned authority will be alerted using the GSM module.

Alcohol detection and vehicle control system

This system provide the method to mitigate the problem related to alcoholic people. We have installed a sensor on the steering of the car that detect the concentration of alcohol into the breath of the drunk driver. The sensor generate current which is sent to the microcontroller and are compared to the preset value. Microcontroller generate the signal proportional to the compared current and on increasing the threshold value then it stop ignition and start buzzing the buzzer and force the GSM module to inform their relative by sending message. In this way it is going to be used in vast applications. This type of system is a great safety factor which can be implanted in the steering of the car. When driver start the ignition system, sensor measures the concentration of alcohol in to its breath and switch off the ignition system of car and notify their relative by sending SMS. So we can minimize the such types of alcohol related accidents. This system can also be implanted in schools and hospitals.

Alcohol Detection System in Vehicle Using Arduino

The aim of our research paper is to represent our project which makes human driving safer and to overcome accidents. This project is developed by integrating alcohol sensor with Arduino board. Arduino processor ATmega328 is able to handle more functions than conventional microcontrollers. The alcohol sensor used in this project is MQ3 which to detect the alcohol content in human breath. Since sensor has fine sensitivity range around 2 meters, it can suit to any vehicle and can easily be hidden from the suspects. This project is fitted inside the vehicle. The project is designed for the safety of people sitting inside the vehicle.

IMPLEMENTATION OF SENSOR IN IGNITION POWER OFF SYSTEM TO DETECT DRUNKEN DRIVERS (DDsWipo)

International Journal of Information Systems and Engineering, 2016

A driver is said to be drunk when driving under an influence, or driving with intoxication with blood alcohol 0.01 grams per deciliter (g/dl), or above. At this point the driver is considered drunk. Problems identified through drunk driving are death, economic lost, injuries leading to amputations etc. Previously Breathalyzer and Intoxilyzer have been used to solve these fatalities which lead to the reduction of these causalities to 1.4% (10,110 fatalities) in 2013 to 9,967 in 2014 United States mortality record. Solving this problem drunk driving sensor with ignition power off (DDsWipo) was introduced, this device has the ability to monitor the blood alcohol of the driver. The research methodology used in gathering this information is qualitative method which includes questionnaire and interview, and the model used is prototype. The outcome of this project is to produce an embedded system that will be able to sensor the blood alcohol concentration of a driver to determine when he or she is drunk and to precede ignition power off mode. This will reduce the amount of impairment in drivers and ease up law enforcement road trouble and also help to reduce economic waste in the country. An Mq3 sensor will be the input receiver, which will have direct access to the control unit in the raspberry pi.

Alcoholic sensor to side step drunken driving road accidents

International Journal of Advance Research, Ideas and Innovations in Technology, 2019

As for the survey done on the drunken and driving accidents are becoming more day by day. To overcome this issue we can initialize the alcoholic sensor and seat belt sensor to the vehicles. If we place an alcoholic sensor in the vehicles that sensors will identify the percentage of alcohol containing in the body and allow the engine to gets starts if the percentage of alcohol is more than the limit ignition will be blocked by the sensor. To sidestep the drunken driving accidents our proposed work may be useful to society. This system is integrating on the alcohol sensor, seat belt sensor with a microcontroller, relay switch and battery. The alcohol sensor used in our project is MQ-3 which detect the presence of alcohol content in human breath. Vehicle ignition system gets power from the battery through a relay switch. The ignition system will operate based on the level of Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) in human breath detected by the alcohol sensor and if the seat belt is not used then the sensor will not allow microcontroller supply power to spark plug.
