On properties of non-markovian random walk in one dimension
Journal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
We study a strongly Non-Markovian variant of random walk in which the probability of visiting a given site i is a function f of number of previous visits v(i) to the site. If the probability is inversely proportional to number of visits to the site, say f(i)=1/(v(i)+1)α the probability distribution of visited sites tends to be flat for α>0 compared to simple random walk. For f(i)=exp(-v(i)), we observe a distribution with two peaks. The origin is no longer the most probable site. The probability is maximum at site k(t) which increases in time. For f(i)=exp(-v(i)) and for α>0 the properties do not change as the walk ages. However, for α<0, the properties are similar to simple random walk asymptotically. We study lattice covering time for these functions. The lattice covering time scales as Nz, with z=2, for α ≤ 0, z>2 for a >0 and z<2 for f(i)=exp(-v(i)).
Some results and problems for anisotropic random walks on the plane
This is an expository paper on the asymptotic results concerning path behaviour of the anisotropic random walk on the two-dimensional square lattice Z 2 . In recent years Miklós and the authors of the present paper investigated the properties of this random walk concerning strong approximations, local times and range. We give a survey of these results together with some further problems.

We revisit the multifractal analysis of R d-valued branching random walks averages by considering subsets of full Hausdorff dimension of the standard level sets, over each infinite branch of which a quantified version of the Erdös-Rényi law of large numbers holds. Assuming that the exponential moments of the increments of the walks are finite, we can indeed control simultaneously such sets when the levels belong to the interior of the compact convex domain I of possible levels, i.e. when they are associated to so-called Gibbs measures, as well as when they belong to the subset (∂I)crit of ∂I made of levels associated to "critical" versions of these Gibbs measures. It turns out that given such a level of one of these two types, the associated Erdös-Rényi LLN depends on the metric with which is endowed the boundary of the underlying Galton-Watson tree. To extend our control to all the boundary points in cases where ∂I = (∂I)crit, we slightly strengthen our assumption on the distribution of the increments to exhibit a natural decomposition of ∂I \ (∂I)crit into at most countably many convex sets J of affine dimension ≤ d − 1 over each of which we can essentially reduce the study to that of interior and critical points associated to some R dim J-valued branching random walk.
Multifractal properties of the sets of zeroes of Brownian paths
Fundamenta Mathematicae, 1995
We study Brownian zeroes in the neighborhood of which one can observe a non-typical growth rate of Brownian excursions. We interpret the multifractal curve for the Brownian zeroes calculated in [6] as the Hausdorff dimension of certain sets. This provides an example of the multifractal analysis of a statistically self-similar random fractal when both the spacing and the size of the corresponding nested sets are random.
Fractal dimension results for continuous time random walks
Statistics & Probability Letters, 2013
Continuous time random walks impose a random waiting time before each particle jump. Scaling limits of heavy-tailed continuous time random walks are governed by fractional evolution equations. Space-fractional derivatives describe heavy-tailed jumps, and the time-fractional version codes heavy-tailed waiting times. This paper develops scaling limits and governing equations in the case of correlated jumps. For long-range dependent jumps, this leads to fractional Brownian motion or linear fractional stable motion, with the time parameter replaced by an inverse stable subordinator in the case of heavy-tailed waiting times. These scaling limits provide an interesting class of non-Markovian, non-Gaussian self-similar processes.
A special set of exceptional times for dynamical random walk on Z 2
Electronic Journal of Probability}
Benjamini, Häggström, Peres and Steif introduced the model of dynamical random walk on d [2]. This is a continuum of random walks indexed by a parameter t. They proved that for d = 3, 4 there almost surely exist t such that the random walk at time t visits the origin infinitely ...
Random walks on fractals: higher moments
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1988
We investigate bq numerical simulation the higher moments for S , , the number of distinct sites visited in an N-step random walk on fractal structures: the Sierpinski gasket, the Sierpinski web, and the percolation clusters of the square planar and the simple cubic lattices. We find that these moments scale similarly, e.g., the ratio of the standard deviation to (S,), the average S, , is constant in time.
