A TECHNIQUE OF WATERMARKING USING WAVELET
A wavelet-based image watermarking scheme is proposed, based on insertion of normally distributed random noise watermark in mid-frequency domain. This new approach provides flexibility in determining the pixel to be watermarked and increases the data hiding capacity. It is easy to implement watermark embedding algorithm as well as the corresponding detection algorithm.
Digital Watermarking of Images and Wavelets
The aim of this paper is a new digital watermarking method. This is a very simple and very fast method. At its basis stays the D.W.T. This transform has a great advantage, its details separation capacity. From this characteristic is inspired the title of the paper. First is established the place of the digital watermarking between the information security methods. Then are presented the new watermark embedding and extraction methods and some simulation results are reported. The digital watermarking method, presented in this paper, can be slightly modified, to embed in the watermark a text containing different information about the watermarking process, named private key. So, a new encryption method of this private key, based on the transmission of images, was obtained. The robustness of the new digital watermarking method against some attacks, like the JPEG compression, was studied. Because the proposed method is fragile against attacks based on translations, in the last paragraph is suggested the substitution of the D. W. T. with a discrete translations invariant wavelet transform.
Designing and Performance Evaluation of a 3-Level Watermarking Based On Encryption and Compression
International Journal of Advance Research, Ideas and Innovations in Technology, 2017
As the mobile handheld gadgets geared up with fingerprint sensors, it turns out to be important to protect the private records of a user (i.e., fingerprint image) in the remote applications. Virtual image watermarking is the process of hiding statistics in any shape (text, image, audio and video) in original image without degrading its visual quality. Watermarking is carried out for copyright protection of the authentic records. In this work, we have introduced a new concept with current gray-scale image watermarking strategies. The novelty of the method is that first we have compressed the cover image with the usage of wavelet compression method before going for the encryption of the same. After that we have encrypted the cover and watermark image that is based on random key array generation, the usage of consumer key, a few constants and fixed operations. The mixture of all 3 steps collectively made the proposed approach extra robust and more secure in term of watermarking as comp...
A Wavelet Based Digital Image Watermarking Technique through Encryption with DCT
International Journal of Engineering Research in Computer Science and Engineering
Recently, due to the increase in popularity of the Internet, the problem of digital data security over the Internet is increasing at a phenomenal rate. Watermarking is used for various notable applications to secure digital data from unauthorized individuals. Digital image watermarking is an attractive research area since it protects the multimedia data from unauthorized access. Digital images are widely communicated over the internet. The security of digital images is an essential and challenging task on shared communication channel. In the era of big data and networking, it is necessary to develop a secure and robust digital watermarking scheme with high computational efficiency to protect copyrights of digital works. Digital watermarking is need for the security of digital images to achieve security goals, i.e. confidentiality, integrity and availability. With the use of sophisticated signal/image processing algorithms, manipulations and duplications of audio, images, and videos ...
Image Encryption using Visual Cryptography and Watermarking Techniques
The present study discusses a novel two layer technique for securing digital images. The two techniques used are visual cryptography (VC) scheme and int-to-int wavelet transforms (IWT). (2, 2) –VC scheme is used to split the secret image into two shares. The IWT is used to decompose the image into its sub bands and the secret image shares are stored in the HH band of the decomposition. Invisibly embedding image shares generated by the visual cryptography in the host image to provide authentication to the shares. The proposed scheme is compared with the traditional discrete cosine transform (DCT) for watermarking. The performance is measured by computing peak signal to noise ratio, mean square error and cross-correlation coefficient.
A wavelet-based image watermarking scheme
Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. No.PR00540), 2000
A novel robust watermarking scheme based on wavelet transform is presented in this paper. The watermark is embedded into significant triplet of wavelet coefficients in the three lowest detail subband images. The embedding algorithm only needs to modify a small amount of the wavelet coefficients, which leads to very small distortion and guarantees the visual quality of the watermarked image. The performance of the proposed algorithm is tested on a series of normal attacks in image processing, such as JPEG compression, Gaussian noise addition, median filter, etc. The corresponding experimental results show that the proposed watermarking scheme has better performance.
Invisible Water-Marking for Security of Images Captured by Smartphone
International Journal for Scientific Research and Development, 2015
Use of digital content is increasing day by day with increasing use of digital devices. Digital images which can be easily generated using these devices are now becoming a cause of concern. Security of one's personal identity is no longer guaranteed. This paper proposes non- blind invisible Digital Watermarking by generating a secret image using IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number as a watermark. Secret image generated contains the unique IMEI number of the Smartphone device which is embedded into the original cover image. 3-level wavelet decomposition for embedding and extraction process is used. Experimental result illustrates the exact recovery of IMEI number to identify the owner of the image.

Authentication of multimedia contents has gained much attention in recent times. In this paper, we propose a secure semi-fragile watermarking, with a choice of two watermarks to be embedded. This technique operates in integer wavelet domain and makes use of semi fragile watermarks for achieving better robustness. A self-recovering algorithm is employed, that hides the image digest into some Wavelet subbands to detect possible malevolent object manipulation undergone by the image (object replacing and/or deletion). The Semi-fragility makes the scheme tolerant for JPEG lossy compression as low as quality of 70%, and locate the tempered area accurately. In addition, the system ensures more security because the embedded watermarks are protected with private keys. The computational complexity is reduced using parameterized integer wavelet transform. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme guarantees the safety of watermark, image recovery and location of the tempered area accu...
