Stratigraphy and structure of interior layered deposits in west Candor Chasma, Mars, from High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) stereo imagery and derived elevations (original) (raw)
This study investigates the stratigraphy and structural features of interior layered deposits (ILDs) in the west Candor Chasma, Mars, using high-resolution stereo imagery and derived elevation data from the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC). It addresses existing hypotheses regarding the formation of these deposits, including lacustrine and eolian processes, and presents evidence for the origins and geological context of the ILDs. Key findings indicate complex depositional processes and structural features within the chasma, providing insights into the geological history and evolution of the region.
