THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTERNET USAGE AND DIGITAL INCLUSION OF WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS (original) (raw)

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution has given tremendous impact to various aspects of life and community communication system. Internet usage through ICT revolution, not only function as channels of communication and source of information but also as a tool for business strategy. The purpose of this study is to determine to what extent the Internet usage affects the digital inclusion among women entrepreneurs in Malaysia. The objective of this study is to identify the relationship between Internet utilization factors that have the role to influence digital inclusion among women entrepreneurs. Data were collected from 402 women entrepreneurs that aged 18 to 50 years who conduct an online business. Questionnaires had been distributed through two methods namely by face-toface interview and online survey. By using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) analysis, the results found that 46% respondents had used Internet exceeding period of 10 years and 32% respondents accessed Internet exceeding period of 29 hours in one week. On the other hand, the analysis of multiple regression find out that the digital inclusion among women entrepreneurs is influenced a lot by their Internet usage skill as a major contributor. Nevertheless, the motivation of Internet use and the frequency of access to Internet application are also providing a significant contribution on digital inclusion. This study showed that digital inclusion among women entrepreneurs certainly spurred by their skill of Internet use that enable them to actively access, seek information and communicating online.
