Inula oculuschristi L. is a perennial plant, 20-60 cm high, growing in southeast Europe, central and southern Russia and some parts of Asia. It belongs to Pontic-Pannonian floristic element. In Pannonian part of Serbia this species is extremely rare, with very few recently confirmed literature and herbarium data. According to the field data for the period from 2013 to 2015, only one population of this species was recorded in Pannonian part of Serbia, on the site of Rimski Šanac, which is threatened by anthropogenic activities. Furthermore, anatomical and micro-morphological features of I. oculuschristi have not been documented so far. Therefore, in order to get better knowledge of the biology this species, as well as on the basis of the abovementioned, its anatomical and micro-morphological characteristics were investigated. Cross sections of the leaf, stem, rhizome and fruit were obtained using cryotechnique procedure by Leica CM 1850 cryostat. Using a light microscopy, detailed descriptions of anatomical characteristics of the analysed organs were given. The scanning electron microscopy revealed specific qualitative features of leaf and fruit that characterize the species. Obtained data may be useful in determination of this species and represent the valuable contribution to its micro-morphological and anatomical differentiation from other congeneric and related species.
Palynological Description of Five Plants of Different Families in the Albanian Region
In this article are presented palynological characteristics of five plants found in different areas in Albania. For each plant are describe the shape of pollen grains, number of furrows and their pores, characteristics of exine and intine. From the study resulted that pollen grains of Epilobium angustifolium were 3 porate, rare 4 porate; pollen grains of Echinops ritro and Tragopogon balcanicus were 3 colporate; pollen grains of Asyneuma limonifolium were 4-5 porate; pollen grains of Juniperus oxycedrus were inaperturate. The layer of exine in Epilobium angustifolium was smooth, rare accompained by small granules (granulate); exine surface in Echinops ritro was microechinate-reticulate; in Tragopogon balcanicus, exine surface was echinolophate or fenestrate; exine surface in Asyneuma limonifolium was perforate and plycate; in Juniperus oxycedrus was covered with small granules scattered without any order.

Based on the diagnostic morphological characters of the Arundo taxa, and after both field and herbarium observation, three species (A. micrantha, A. plinii and A. donax) were found along the eastern Adriatic coast. Altogether, 50 phytocoenological relevés from Arundo stands were collected in Croatia, Montenegro and Albania between 2010 and 2013. Three associations with a predominance of Arundo species were determined: Arundinetum plinianae, Arundinetum micranthae and Arundini donacis-Convolvuletum sepium. Among them, Arundinetum micranthae is described and proposed as a new association, belonging to the Artemisietea vulgaris class. It occurs frequently along the coastal belt between the cities of Split and Dubrovnik in South Croatia. The syntaxonomy of the associations is discussed and comparison with similar communities from Italy is made. The vegetation and floristic structure of the associations is discussed as a potential basis for biodiversity conservation programmes and for evaluating the state of these ecosystems in the future.
Morfo-anatomska diferencijacija vrste teucrium montanum (Lamiaceae) na prostoru Centralnog Balkana

Inter-population differentiation of the species Teucrium montanum was analyzed on the basis of morpho-anatomical variability of its thirteen populations distributed between 60 and 1750 m above sea level in the Mediterranean and Continental region of the central Balkan Peninsula. Descriptive statistics were performed for each of 28 continuous quantitative characters related to leaf and stem morphology and anatomy. The hypothesis of morphological separation of populations was tested using canonical discriminant analysis (CDA), and discriminant function analysis was used to estimate the contribution of individual characters to overall discrimination. The discrimination between groups in CDA was predominantly based on characteristics of the external structure on the leaf surface, while the internal structure of the leaf and stem did not show such significant differences between the 13 populations. Sci., In the present work we investigated medicinal plants of the flora of the maintained reserve "Balabana", located in the middle reaches of the river Tundhza, near elhovo (Tundzha hilly valley). A characteristic was made of the systematic structure of the eco-biological features of these plants. The species were grouped in biological groups, life forms, floral elements and flowering period. Medicinal plants were also classified according to their relation to water, light, heat and substrate.
In this paper, we present 17 taxa that Josif Pančić discovered and published during investigations of flora of Serbia, Montenegro and Bulgaria in the period 1846-1888. Eugenia luschnathiana (O.Berg) Klotzsch ex B.D.Jacks. (Myrtaceae) species, commonly known as pitomba-da-baía, occurs in Restinga region in the state of Ceara and has medicinal potential. The present study aimed to characterize the anatomy of E. luschnathiana leaves in the rainy and dry seasons, as well as in the sun and shade in the Restinga region of Ceara, aiming to generate useful information to understand the adaptive value of morphoanatomic responses to the natural conditions of occurrence of the species. Collections were performed at the State Botanical Park of Ceara, and leaves were completely expanded and fixed in FAA70, being replaced by 70% ethanol after 24 h. The family Lamiaceae has an important role as a source of medicinal and aromatic plants of commercial importance. The genus Hymenocrater Fisch. & C.A.Mey., which belongs to the family Lamiaceae, is represented in Turkey by only one species, H. bituminosus Fisch. & C.A.Mey. This plant is distributed in East Anatolia, Transcaucasia, northwest and central Iran, and Khorassan. It is an Irano-Turanian element and grows at high altitudes (1900-2100 m) in East Anatolia (Mill, 1982). The genus Hymenocrater is represented by 11 species in Flora Iranica and 2 species in Flora of the USSR (Gorshkova, 1976; Rechinger, 1982). There are few studies on the essential oil of Hymenocrater species in Russia, Iran, and Turkey. It is reported in the Flora of the USSR that H. bituminosus has commercial value due to a lemon aroma (Gorshkova, 1976). The essential oil of H. incanus Bunge, which is endemic to Iran, was analysed by Mirza et al. (2001). Composition of the essential oil of H. calycinus (Boiss.) Benth. was investigated by Firouznia et al. (2005) and the essential oil of H. bituminosus in Turkey was analysed by Kürkçüo¤lu et al. (2005). Introduction: Finding sources of drugs among the species of genus Onosma of the local fl ora is actual direction. Many of the species of genus Onosma are weeds, some live exclusively on dry sandy or rocky slopes. Many of the species of genus Onosma have used in ethnopharmacology as anti-infl ammatory, analgesic, and wound health remedies. The purpose of this research is morphological and anatomical study of herbs of Onosma caucasica Levin. ex M. Pop. and Onosma sericea Willd. (Boraginaceae). Materials and Methods: The objects of the study were collected in North Caucasus (Russia) in June 2011. Materials morphological study herbarium specimens were stored in the herbarium fund the Department of Botany (acronym PGFA). Materials micromorphological study were temporary slides are the leaf, stem and fl owers. Results: The morphological results were compared with the Flora of the USSR. Anatomical characters of leaves and stems of the species were observed to be similar to the usual features of Boraginaceae anatomy. All results are supported by photographs. The nature of trichomes on the leaf blade has a major diagnostic value in determining the authenticity of herbs the studied species. Conclusion: The severity of downy leaf blade and the corolla, and the structure of the hair can reliably identify this type of raw material and serve as the basis for the development of the regulatory documentation for its standardization.

Crocus cf. heuffelianus Herb. belongs to series Verni Mathew and presents one of the most complex and critical taxa within the whole genus Crocus L. Depending on different authors C. cf. heuffelianus is sometimes split into different taxa (e.g. C. scepusiensis (Rehmer & Wol.) Borbás ex Kulcz., C. vittatus Schloss. & Vuk., nom. illeg.). In order to disentangle the complicate taxonomical status of this species and to determine the degree of its morpho-anatomical variability in the different environmental conditions, a comparative investigation of plant morphology and leaf anatomy of seven populations from the Balkan Peninsula was carried out. Morphometric analysis included meristic, quantitative and qualitative parameters. To examine the leaf anatomy, the fresh cross sections were made by the manual microtome and stained with safranin and alcian blue. Statistical analyses like Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Canonical Discriminant Analysis (CDA) revealed significant differences between populations, indicating the presence of distinct groups correlating with their geographical distribution. The largest contribution to the differentiation of analysed populations is made by the characters that are related to corms, perigone segments, leaves and anthers, followed by the general outlook of cross sections, palisade and spongy parenchyma, abaxial epidermal cells and vascular bundle features. These findings confirm that Balkanian C. cf. heuffelianus from the morpho-anatomical point of view, actually presents rather an aggregate of species.
