European Journal of Information Technologies and Computer Science

This era witnessed the rapidly growing of internet technology, a huge amount of people all over the world using the internet and it applications, there are various ways and purposes for using the internet which contributed in so many fields, and one of these techniques which will be more increasing and usage is the future is the Internet of Things (IoT), which facilitate using of many embedded devices that help will be connected and controlled through the internet. The technology of the Internet of Things (IoT) relies on Cloud Computing. Cloud Computing provides a baseline that supports IoT and is built on the idea of allowing individuals to perform computing activities via internet-based services. This article presents a comprehensive survey on addresses the concerns, challenges, and existing state-of-the-art standards to emphasize and overcome most of the proposed technical solutions and it will deepen the importance of the IoT & The Internet of Everything (IoE) technology, the pa...

Internet of Things (IOT) as the future of networked devices: An overview

Global Journal of Engineering and Technology Advances, 2021

The internet being a major tool in the globalization of the world has made it possible for human beings to interact, share and access information on a very large scale without distance being a barrier. Computer systems with broad functionalities like the desktop, laptop and smart phone are connected through the internet. But going beyond just connecting computer systems to the internet, the Internet of Things connects devices and objects together and to the internet. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a developing paradigm that makes communication and gathering of data possible between electronic devices, objects and sensors through internet technology, with the aim of improving quality of life. IoT is seen to be a big player in the networking of future devices and the internet but has some challenges that needs to be addressed. This paper through extensive literature review, highlighted the progress made by IoT, its applications in different sectors, the challenges faced by this technology for its full actualization and also its future projections.

The Internet of Things – Promise for the Future? An Introduction

The Internet is a living entity, always changing and evolving. New applications and businesses are created continuously. In addition to an evolving Internet, technology is also changing the landscape. Broadband connectivity is becoming cheap and ubiquitous; devices are becoming more powerful and smaller with a variety of on-board sensors. The proliferation of more devices becoming connected is leading to a new paradigm: the Internet of Things. The Internet of Things is driven by an expansion of the Internet through the inclusion of physical objects combined with an ability to provide smarter services to the environment as more data becomes available. Various application domains ranging from Green-IT and energy efficiency to logistics are already starting to benefit from Internet of Things concepts. There are challenges associated with the Internet of Things, most explicitly in areas of trust and security, standardisation and governance required to ensure a fair and trustworthy open Internet of Things which provides value to all of society. Internet of Things is high on the research agenda of several multinationals as well as the European Commission and countries such as China. The research conducted is driving the creation of a useful and powerful Internet of Things. The benefits of Internet of Things to the developing and emerging economies are significant, and strategies to realise these need to be found.

Internet of Things: Definition, Applications, Issues and Future Prospective

—Internet of Things (IoT) is the extension of Internet into the physical environment around us; by the embodiment of electronics into the everyday physical objects that we tend to use. This makes the digital and physical entities linked by the means of appropriate communication technologies. Penetration of these everyday objects into the web strengthens the goal of offering a whole new set of services to the users, showing them the amalgamation of varied devices, versatile data and various technologies as one common operating picture, using IoT. With the IoT advancements in various sectors, more number of devices are being digitally augmented leading to the discovery of newer issues and challenges that are faced due to these 3 Vs; varied devices, versatile data and various technologies. This survey focuses on identification of such issues and challenges in IoT; suggesting some clues for future research.

A Survey of Some of the Key Characteristics of Internet of Things

African Journal of Computing & ICT , 2020

With a growing dependence on data for faster and more appropriate decision making, the internet of things (IoT) has become indispensable for human. This is because it is a network relied upon for the transfer of data from one collection points to processing points and subsequent transfer of insights from the data to locations where it will be applied. IoT has permeated both the personal and professional lives of individuals and it is becoming ubiquitous in businesses and industries globally. This paper discusses the preserved state of the internet of things in terms of the architecture, applications, data processing technologies, connectivity, security issues and its future prospects.

Cloud Computing and Internet of Things: Issues and Developments

2018

Cloud computing is a pervasive paradigm that is growing by the day. Various service types are gaining increased importance. Internet of things is a technology that is developing. It allows connectivity of both smart and dumb systems over the internet. Cloud computing will continue to be relevant to IoT because of scalable services available on the cloud. Cloud computing is the need for users to procure servers, storage, and applications. These services can be paid for and utilized using the various cloud service providers. Clearly, IoT which is expected to connect everything to everyone, requires not only connectivity but large storage that can be made available either through on-premise or off-premise cloud facility. On the other hand, events in the cloud and IoT are dynamic. This paper aims to provide an understanding of cloud and IoT. In addition, the paper discusses current trends in terms of industry activities. It also examines the prospects of cloud and IoT trends in cloud ap...
