Objective. – In the long term, people with traumatic brain injury (TBI) present with communication disorders impairing their professional and social integration. The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of group therapy on communication disorders of people with TBI in the post-hospital period.Materials and method. – Four patients were followed in the medico-social department "Auprès-TC" and took part in various day programs. Two speech therapists participated for a 7-month period using group therapy to take into account communication disorders. The patients and families were evaluated at the beginning and end of care, by use of the Lille Communication Test, the Bordeaux Scale of Verbal Communication, the Revised Neurobehavioural Rating Scale, and part of the European document EBIS.Results. – Despite the delay since TBI, patients showed quantitative and qualitative evolution of communicative abilities.Discussion-conclusion. – The influence of group therapy on t...

EnglishThe traumatic brain injury (TBI) is an alteration of brain function caused by an external mechanical force, causing a decrease in the level of consciousness. Thus, this leads to impaired cognitive or physical abilities, which can also produce behavioral or emotional disorders. The present work is to study and evaluate the neuropsychological sequelae after brain damage in the short term during the first three months after head injury. This is a prospective study in the neurosurgery department at the Regional Hospital of Gharb Cherarda Beni H'ssen Kenitra, involving 20 patients and 20 control neuro-traumatized, where men are more affected than women by this type trauma. The study was performed in sample with an average age of 26.75 years and a standard deviation of 16.34 with extremes between 4 and 60 years. Rééducation des processus attentionnels : approche sur simulateur de conduite : application au traumatisme crânien et au vieillissement normal

L’objectif de ce travail de recherche consistait a utiliser la realite virtuelle (simulateur de conduite) afin d'ameliorer les capacites attentionnelles de personnes presentant une baisse d’efficience de ces aptitudes (en lien avec l’âge ou la survenue d’un traumatisme crânien) pouvant se repercuter sur la conduite automobile. En reference au modele de l’attention de Van Zomeren et Brouwer (1994), quatre processus attentionnels (alerte phasique, vigilance, attention selective et attention divisee) ont ete entraines sur simulateur de conduite lors d’un programme comprenant 9 sessions d’une heure. Un groupe controle a effectue un training plus conventionnel sur ordinateur. Les performances des participants (10 patients traumatises crâniens et 16 personnes âgees de plus de 65 ans) ont ete evaluees avant et apres le training a partir de trois mesures : une evaluation neuropsychologique, une evaluation sur simulateur de conduite et une evaluation sur route reelle.
