Literary genres — alive and kicking : The productivity of a literary concept (original) (raw)

Literary genres have faced significant challenges over the years, with claims of their obsolescence in modern literature. However, this paper argues that such assertions are exaggerated and that genres continue to play a vital role in literary analysis. Through examining historical perspectives and the inherent tensions within genre classifications, the author illustrates the complexity and dynamism of literary production and reception, suggesting that a focus on genres can enrich our understanding of literature rather than detract from it.
