Assumer sa finitude pour éviter sa dissolution : parcours subjectifs dans le théâtre de Paul Pourveur (original) (raw)

Abstract

Belgian playwright Paul Pourveur, whose work is known for its theatrical effects of contemporaneity, presents characters caught in a situation in-between, of hesitation. Three of his last works that were written between 1993 and 2007 question the problem of the couple and the love relationship in a world where the boundaries, contours and contradictions are erased in favor of totalizing discourses – scientific or commercial. This article aims firstly to expose the effects of the pattern of dissolution on the theatrical writing in these three plays of Pourveur. Then, in a second step, it will show how this writing offers for the self a synthetic overtaking of the loss in doubt or of the petrification on a stereotyped imaginary, by bringing in the forefront the work of the enunciation.
