Area Q yielded a considerable quantity of Cypriot Iron Age ceramics. This material is comparable to the published corpus of such imports from the Iron II strata of Megiddo (for a summary, see Arie 2013: 722–729). Yet, most items of the Area Q assemblage were recovered in a fragmentary state.

Imported Cypriot Pottery in Twelfth-Century b.c. Ashkelon
Bulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research, 2015
It has been suggested that the collapse of the Late Bronze Age trading networks severed connections between Cyprus and the Philistine cities of the southern Levant. However, the excavators of the Leon Levy Expedition to Ashkelon have uncovered two examples of vessels made in Cyprus and then imported to Philistia during the mid-12th century b.c. These vessels are characterized below, and the consequences of their discovery are briefly addressed.
