DESIGNING A CLOSED LOOP TUTELAGE SYSTEM TO SUPPORT STUDENT IN PREPARING AND EXECUTING THE STUDY PLAN (original) (raw)

Artificial Intelligence Tutelage System

E-learning, often known as "online learning," "virtual learning," "remote learning," and other similar terms, is an alternative to traditional classroom instruction. "Distance education," "digital learning," or "mobile learning." E-learning involves using several distinct technologies, including the web, open broadcast, loop, cable, microwave, broadband lines, fibre optics, satellite, wireless communications equipment, audio/video conferencing, and others, for one-way or two-way transmission. To improve educational knowledge, e-learning makes use of interactive technology and communication infrastructure. It has the ability to change how we typically teach and learn across the board. It will improve standards and increase long-term learning involvement. Although it cannot completely replace teachers and lecturers, it will improve the quality and scope of their instruction and reduce the time spent on administration. Each learner will be changed to reach his or her full potential, and it will make it easier to give an academic force the freedom to change. It makes a very ambitious educational system for an emerging learning society feasible. As demand grows, there is a need to standardise the E-learning system and to use new technologies to raise the standard of the current system. Despite the fact that many corporations and academic institutions have previously adopted various standards, there are still certain issues with these standards' benefits and drawbacks that must be addressed by incorporating new technical standards into the current norms to improve their usability and systematicity

Implementation of a Computing Device to Quality Service in Learning in Higher Education to Enhance Student’s Quality of Life

IOSR Journal of Research & Method in Education (IOSRJRME), 2014

Our work is concerned with monitoring and periodic evaluation of students' skills acquired during their university education. The objective of our work is to provide software tools for supporting and mentoring students in order to improve their quality of life. We suggest a computing device "ISIFePortfolio" which not only allows monitoring of learners, but also plays the role of an ePortfolio (electronic portfolio) skills, and a social networking combined systems. This tool includes a broad range of collaborative working solutions and the ePortfolio is considered an extension of the "paper" records of a student as an individual digital space available on the Internet in such a secure and personalized way, collecting personal resources, experiences, studies, acquired skills, relationships with trainers, working groups, classmates and that will be saved throughout the training course. Based on Mahara technology, "ISIFePortfolio" is an application implemented by ORDIPU team at the University Hassan II Mohammedia-Casablanca. It has been integrated into the platform of distance education "Education Master ISIF" for the master "Engineering Information Systems and Training."

Preliminary Design of an Application to Improve the Teaching and Learning Process

EDULEARN proceedings, 2017

Information in its multiple forms (oral, textual, hypertextual, audio, video, iconic, multimedia ...) is the raw material of the current era. The development and evolution of our civilization is symbiotically linked to the Information and communications technology (ICT). Proposals for teaching and learning in the context of the knowledge society must integrate an educational system that target the thought operations, not only under the traditional logical thinking, but also within a model where thought operations can be expressed in complex active competences, in which abstract knowledge is mixed with the experiential, defined as technological thinking. Currently, the use of devices such as smartphones and tablets is widespread in the youth and the University community. This development reflects not only the growing penetration of these devices in the academic environment, but also that technological applications are increasingly commonly incorporated, which can be used for professors with academic purposes. Currently, there is software available that allows designing and developing applications for smartphones and tablets with academic content. In our case, we intend to design an academic app for Android and iOS systems, which can facilitate the study of various subjects through seamless student-professor communication. The subjects to which the app is addressed include complex physiological phenomena, cell exchange processes and inter-chamber interactions. The lack of time to deal with many contents and concepts is a major problem for professors when it comes to developing the subject, and they are overwhelmed by an enormous amount of information. In this context, the app can lead to a profound change in the subject teaching. This represents a huge challenge for professors, related to innovation, technology, science and education. Tablets, smartphones and applications will be increasingly present in everyday life including university classrooms. Therefore it is imperative that professors have a motivated attitude to the use of these tools and they should be specially trained in its use to develop appropriate educational activities. Knowing devices, products, resources for selection, content is essential to maximize the potential of technology in teaching.

Framework for a Computer-Assisted Counseling System for Education Based on Learning Behavior and Study Results

Technology is playing an increasingly important role in the education for the 21st century as can be seen by the rapid development of e-learning and online courses. Students exposed to online courses often lack the real life experience of direct response to their learning behavior and results, such as being advised which topics they should review in more detail and what their advisors are thinking about their learning outcomes. On the other hand, in most cases the online instructors cannot keep track of the learning behaviors of all students enrolled easily. In this paper the authors use a design research approach to propose a framework and system design for a computer-assisted counseling system for education based on learning behavior and study results of individual students of online courses. The objective of this design research is to give students an automatic response to monitored attendance and quiz/test results after having finished a learning unit. The response is based on t...

IJERT-Smart Learning Guidance System for University Students

International Journal of Engineering Research and Technology (IJERT), 2020

https://www.ijert.org/smart-learning-guidance-system-for-university-students https://www.ijert.org/research/smart-learning-guidance-system-for-university-students-IJERTV9IS110056.pdf The motivation of this research paper is to find solutions for student problems faced during their academic years in college. In this paper, we used machine learning algorithms, feed-forward neural networks, and regression models to predict student's final GPA based on their grades in previous semesters, and calculate the estimated workload for each student based on the past academic results. The main contribution of the paper is that we have used various models to predict and analyze each function and get an accuracy of almost above 75% for each module. To preprocess data, we have used NLP techniques, applied the linear regression algorithms and the bag of words model to discover classification rules. We extracted useful knowledge for final GPA and identify the most important courses in the student's study plan based on their grades in the mandatory courses. Another main reason having this research paper is that the exponential growth in using the mobile devices market over the last decade and chatbots are becoming an increasingly popular option while this can be used for educational purposes as well. This study examined educational chat-bots for helping students to achieve the expected GPA by giving real-time answers to student questions, predict the final GPA of students based on past results, and calculate the student workload.

The main aspects of the application of educational technologies in the study process

Επιστημονική Επετηρίδα Παιδαγωγικού Τμήματος Νηπιαγωγών Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων, 2015

Rapidly changing economic, social and political conditions, the penetration of new technologies also requires a completely different type of the university lecturers who are innovation-friendly. They must have relevant knowledge and combine didactic technologies and information and communication technologies in order that they would be able to give students an opportunity to study in an innovative and effective way. Taking into consideration that the study process is always based on a certain technology and paying attention to the shift of education paradigms, it can be established that, in the modern study process, it is extremely important to realise precisely today's educational objectives and principles which assist in implementing up-to-date educational technologies. The study is aimed at establishing what most important factors of the application of educational technologies in the process of modern studies are. The study is based on a quantitative research methodology the choice of which was determined by the newness of the analyzed problem. The study shows that the objectives of a subject of studies are always discussed with students, the latter also have an opportunity to set their own individual study objectives, they are continuously kept informed why they study concrete knowledge and what it will be needed for in the future. The creation of an environment favourable to studies is also proved by the fact that the opportunity is given to students to combine the content of their studies of a subject with their own personal experience, interests. The study process is dominated by the study process of the active creation and construction of knowledge.

Academic advisors‘ record keeping andmonitoring system (AA-ReKeMoS) / Nik Zam Nik Wan ...[et al.]

2019

UiTM Academic Advisors or commonly known as 'Penasihat Akademik (PA)' are appointed among lecturers to be responsible for a group of students. PA is responsible to advice those students with regards to their academic planning, to monitor their academic activities as well as academic achievements. PA can play an important role in ensuring the students meet UiTM's academic objectives which include graduating on time with CGPA more than 3.00. However, due to demanding schedule of PA as lecturers, they seem to be having lack of time to schedule meetings with the students and unsystematic recording of PA-students meetings will make monitoring almost impossible. Consequently problematic as well as weak students cannot be identified sooner for appropriate actions leading to poor academic performance that would affects faculty's overall performances. Therefore, Academic Advisors' Record Keeping and Monitoring System (AA-ReKeMoS) is necessary to enable PA-students' activities to be frequently updated and the information can be made accessible to Head of Faculty for monitoring purposes. Apart from monitoring individual PA's activities, Head of Faculty can also obtain information about each student from the system. AA-ReKeMoS is cheap, manageable and can be widely applied since it utilized Microsoft Excel and Google Drive that can be easily accessed and are free for all the Academic Advisors.
