The Students' Perceptions About E-Learning in a Higher Education Institution in Turkey

Pages E-learning is one of the common education types in Turkey elsewhere in the world because it has been a necessity for higher and continuous education of people but what about its quality? There are a diverse number of factors which affect the quality of e-learning education but one of the most important factors is the student. Because students are at the center of education and all of the teaching-learning operations are performed for them, their impressions are very important to gain idea about the quality and improvement of education. In order to obtain information from students v about e-learning process, questionnaires applied to 267 students and 203 of them were used for this study. The results showed that students were not able to get adequate support from teachers and success rates of the students were affected negatively by lack of immediate feedback. It was also inferred that learning objectives of the course were shared at the beginning but they were not emphasized throughout the term therefore students did not have enough knowledge about them. Moreover, according to the students almost all of the e-learning courses have similar assessment methods and they were not selected according to the predetermined learning objectives. Lastly, students mentioned that e-learning courses they had taken were not more beneficial than traditional ones but they will continue preferring them in the future. This shows that although there are still problems related with elearning, students still prefer it because of its advantages for the students.

A study of students’ perception about e-learning

Introduction: e-learning is a relatively new phenomenon where currently the educators and students are grappling with the idea of its implementation and adaptation. With the speedy development of ICT and relative exposure of students to it, this study examines students’ perceptions about e-learning which would help in a newer teaching learning experiences on the campus. Materials and Methods: A quantitative approach with a structured questionnaire (18 close and 5 open ended) were used for data collection and it was presented to 150 respondents (2nd year M.B.BS) of age group 19-21yrs of different socioeconomic and demographic backgrounds. Results and Discussion: 90% students used internet daily. 78% Male [M] and 92% Female [F] respondents have an idea about e-learning, while 92.5% of them indicated their interest to further guidance. 88%M and 79 F students claim to not have any e-learning facilities on campus. 58% M and 49%F use various forms like emails, chat, blogs, video conferencing, WhatsApp to communicate with their faculties. 98% agree to find e-learning useful and 86% M and 94% F are motivated to use it. 81%M and 88% F find e-learning to be of interactive mode and 74% M with 83% F agree about its cost effectivity. Implementing e-learning would improve performance in 99% students with 74% M and 53% F indicating better understanding of the course. 75% believe that they will have ready access to e-learning courses while other don't due to lack of constant supply of internet. 38% agree e-learning is disadvantages as it will replace faculties as they are comfortable with the traditional teaching style, while 26% disagree. 58% M and 64% F think student will skip traditional classes while 39% M and 35% F would be distracted. 86%M and 92% F disagree with adapting difficulties on implementing newer e-learning modules and tools while the others agree due lack of training. Students gave suggestions to start blogs, online discussions, online submission of home work, and video assisted training for clinical work. Conclusion: The study clearly depicts that e-learning has its benefits from a student's perspective and it will have a positive influence on their performance with better understanding of their courses. Thus for at least the following few years, the university needs come out with e-learning tools and modules for a better teaching -learning experience make a positive impact on the students career. Student Perception Toward E-Learning in Primary School Teacher Education Department Students of Serambi Mekkah University

The article provides an overview of the application of e-learning to students of The Primary School Teacher Educationdepartment at SerambiMekkah University in the Introduction to Computer Application courses. Data collection was carried out through instrument testing and concept comprehension tests in multiple choice forms and interviews with students. There are various problems faced by students based on the results of the interviews of the authors in the field during student complaints that were delivered at the time of access a little slow when accessed simultaneously, however, based on the test results obtained show the probability value <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is an influence on student learning outcomes in the application of E-Learning.

Students' Perceptions Regarding E-Learning

We live in an era where IC&T generates numerous transformations to the classic way of learning. The most known results of these transformations concretise in two means of learning through IC&T: e-learning and computer assisted learning. Just like the classical ones, these models assume the existence of an efficient learning process based on an efficient cooperation and a communication activity well established. Within this framework, the following question arises: How this new method of learning is perceived and when it is best used and placed during the instruction process? Seeking an answer to the above mentioned question, a joint academic staff from the reputed Iasia's University Al. I. Cuza an the well-known Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest have organized an inquiry through the students from both institutions regarding the perceptions, attitudes and expectations regarding e-learning. This paper briefly presents the main findings of this inquiry.

An Analysis of Prospective E-Learning Change Agents' Concerns toward E-Learning in Turkey: A Case from Computer Education and Instructional Technology Department in Ankara

The purpose of the study is to analyze the concerns of last year preservice teachers at the department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology, at one university in Ankara, toward the use of e-learning. These preservice teachers were assumed as prospective change agents for the use of e-leaning in any organization such as school, company and so on. The participants consisted of 48 forth-year preservice teachers, 33 male (68.8%) and 15 female (31.2%). The Stages of Concern Questionnaire was used to analyze their concern toward the use of e-learning. Results indicated the respondents have high personal, informational and awareness concerns toward the e-learning. Some suggestion is also presented.

Analysis of Education Faculty Students’ Attitudes towards E-Learning According to Different Variables

The purpose of the study is to investigate the education faculty students' attitudes towards e-learning according to different variables. In current study, the data were collected from 393 students of an education faculty in Turkey. In this study, theattitude towards e‐learning scale and the demographic information form were used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficient. It was found that there is a significant difference in students' tendency towards e-learning and avoidance from e-learning based on gender. Male students have more positive attitudes towards e-learning than female students. Also, the students who used the internet lesshave higher levels of avoidance from e-learning. Prospective Teachers' Attitude towards e-learning: A Case of Pakistan

E-learning is a form of education which implies involvement, motivation and efficiency in communication. E-learning deals with the ability to share material via different electronic media. Therefore the recognition of the pedagogical and technological dimensions of e-learning is important as it concerns the development and application of technology enhanced courses. This study was conducted to explore the attitude of prospective teachers towards e-learning. This is quantitative exploratory study based on a cross-sectional survey. The sample consisted of 360 prospective teachers from the Institute of Education and Research. On-proportional stratified random sampling technique was used. A questionnaire consisting of 30 items on five-point Likert-Type scale was developed, the reliability coefficient was α = 0.78. The data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. Results of the study indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in attitudes toward e-learning by gender. It is suggested that educational planners should consider the prospective teachers attitude towards e-learning while developing e-curriculum.

The purpose of this study was to determine students' perceptions of E-learning based learning in the 2019/2020 even semester lectures. The population of this research is the postgraduate students of PGRI Palembang University with a sample of 81 students taking ICT and Educational Innovation courses. This research is a descriptive study. The research data was taken using a questionnaire about readiness to take E-learning, the benefits of E-learning, constraints on E-learning, and E-learning interactions. Data were analyzed using a percentage of student responses to the questionnaire given. The results showed that seen from the responses of students who agreed to the readiness to take E-learning, it was 78%. Responses to the benefits of E-learning learning 67% who agreed, 68% of the responses to the constraints of E-learning learning agreed. Perception of E-Learning Among University Teachers

Over the last five years e-learning became one of usual forms of teaching in Romania. Implementation of e-learning system has to overcome two major problems: lack of technology and psychological acceptance of the human factor. Beyond technical support, the human factor refines this process. Depending of multiple factors, both parts of the process teachers and students react different towards e-learning provocation. This paper focused to Romanian university teacher interaction with e–learning system. Using qualitative marketing research techniques we have identify: involved efforts, demands, reactions, perceptions, gaps, motivations of Romanian teachers and other relevant aspects of pedagogical work into e-learning process.

A Study On Attitude Of B.Ed. Pupil Teachers Towards E-Learning

The present study is carried out on measuring the attitude of B.Ed Pupil teacher towards E-Leaning. Descriptive survey method was adopted for the study. For the purpose of present study all B.Ed. students of self Financed and government institutions of state and central universities of Varanasi constitute the population. A total no .of 100 students from central universities and state universities constitute the sample in which 50 students of B.Ed. of self financed and 50 students of government institutions of central and state universities are selected for the study. The sample will be selected by stratified random sampling technique. The mean of e learning score was found 294.The mean score suggests that B.Ed. pupil teachers possess good level of attitude towards e learning. The findings with reference to gender and type of school management does not show any significant difference whereas the finding w.r.t to locality came significant.
