Job Satisfaction of Employees in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchirappalli

"The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited is one of the major industries for country's economic development. The main aim of this study is to assess the factors which are responsible for employee's job satisfaction. This paper aims to study relationships in among reasonable compensation and job satisfaction, working environment and job satisfaction, Job Security and job satisfaction. The result exposed that salary is the mainly important factor for influence job satisfaction of employees. Apart from salary, it has been found that the influence of supervisor support, healthy working environment, proper work-life balance, career opportunities and promotion, proper training and development opportunities are furthermore very important factors for determining employee's job satisfaction. Data is collected using questionnaires from 50 Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited employees who are randomly selected from the BHEL, Tiruchirappalli. Simple random sampling method was used in the study to select the sample. Reliability test, Principal Component Analysis, Independent Samples t-test, ANOVA and Mean Comparison test were used for analyzing the data. FEW HRD FACTORS INFLUENCING JOB SATISFACTION – A STUDY WITH REFERENCE TO BSNL, THREE DIFFERENT SSAS

The aim of this paper is to study investigates that the few Human Resource Development (HRD) factors influencing Job Satisfaction with special reference to BSNL, three different Secondary Switching Areas (SSA), the names of the SSAs are Trichy, Thanjavur and Madurai SSA. The Appraisal and Reward, Managing People, Industrial Relations and Performance Management are the few HRD factors influencing Job Satisfaction, which are mainly concerned with people at work and with their relationship within the organization. Job Satisfaction using by Job Descriptive Index (JDI) Scale among BSNL employees. The JDI scale included Work, Supervision, Pay, Promotions, and Co-worker. For conducting this research a sample of 300 employees taking in BSNL, three SSAs. To examine the level of HRD Practices associated with Job Satisfaction among BSNL employees. The aim of the study was to explore the impact of HRD Practices on Job Satisfaction. From the study, the researcher found that to sum up the few Human Resource Development factors of BSNL is accepted by its employees.

The aim of this study is to access the influence of professional and personal characteristics on job satisfaction among banking sector employees.In relation to job satisfaction factors, research is conducted on the employees of Andhra pragathi Grameena bank. Data is collected from the questionnaire that was given directly to the respondents. A Study on Employee Job Satisfaction in Jeyamalli Industries Pvt. Ltd, Sipcot, Ranipet

Many organizations today are placing greater emphasis on talent retention to sustain their competitive advantage and keeping their employees highly satisfied and motivated. The purpose of this observational and interview based study is to understand the level of job satisfaction the employees working in Jeyamalli Industries, SIPCOT, Ranipet had and the parameters that influenced it. Long-term career progression, engagement activities, welfare activities and motivation has had a positive influence on the employees. However there is room for much improvement on areas such as technical and management related training, employee skill development, work safety measures and work environment.

Job Satisfaction

Job satisfaction is one of the most crucial but controversial issues in industrial Psychology and behaviourial management in organization. It ultimately decides the extent of employ motivation through the development of organizational climate or environment satisfaction is specific subset of attitudes held by organizational members. It is the attitude one has towards his or her job. Stated another way, it is one's effective response to the job. Job satisfaction in a narrow sense means attitudes related to the job. It is concerned with such specific factors has wages, supervision, steadiness of employment, conditions of work, social relation of the job, prompt settlement of grievances, fair treatment of employer and other similar items. Job satisfaction is related to different Socio-economic and personal factors, such as: Age, Sex, Incentives, Working Environment, Education, duration of work etc. The present paper will highlight different factors affecting job satisfaction in pharmaceutical company in Sikkim, India.

Job satisfaction is the crucial requirement for ensuring the efficient operation of the organization. Several scholars across various fields have used the construct of job satisfaction as a focus of their research. This study is aims to identify the factors affecting the job satisfaction of employees. Among the 585 employees working in Bhaktapur Municipality, 100 employees were selected based on disproportionate stratified sampling to collect information using structured questionnaire. Descriptive and analytical research design was used. Correlation and regression analyses were used to check the hypothesis. The findings indicate different factors like the working environment, the task itself, job security, wages, pay, and grades have a significant effect on job satisfaction, whereas recognition and supervision have a positive but insignificant effect on it. INTEGRATION OF PSYCHOSOCIAL ASPECT AND THE LEVEL OF JOB SATISFACTION: A STUDY OF INDIAN EASTERN RAILWAY EMPLOYEES

The present study deals with gender difference in job satisfaction in Indian Eastern Railway employees. Attempts were also made to assess their different psychosocial aspect such as subjective sense of well being, coping style and the level of happiness. The sample size was 50 divided into 2 groups (male-25 and female-25). Each group was consisted respondents age ranging between 22-35 years and having minimum 2 years of job experience. The data were collected from Indian eastern railway employees. Job satisfaction scale, Subjective well being inventory, coping checklist II and Oxford happiness inventory were administered to assess the level of job satisfaction, subjective sense of well being, coping style and level of happiness. It is revealed that male worker were found to be more satisfied than female workers in their job and in case of level of happiness and sense of well being the same result has been found. There is no significant difference between gender (male and female) in level of job satisfaction and level of happiness. In case of sense of well being and coping significant difference has been found between the two groups. Furthermore, significant correlation could not be drawn between job satisfaction and the other selected variables for the present sample of investigation.

Job Satisfaction and Its Influential Factors

Background: This study aimed at determining the job satisfaction level of the staff in Shahroud University of Medical Sciences (SUMS), northern Iran, and its influential factors. Methods: In this descriptive study, conducted in 2008, the participants were 384 workers in SUMS selected through simple random sampling procedure. The participants received a 33-item questionnaire in a Likert format (8 general items and 25 items related to job satisfaction facets). The collected data in form of frequencies and percentages were analyzed with SPSS software. Results: 53.4% of interviewees were female and more than 60% had associate or higher degrees. 42.6% had less than 10 yr and 30.9% had 20 to 30 yr of job experience, respectively. The mean of the overall satisfaction was 13.02 out of 20. Regarding the facets of job satisfaction, work, coworkers, supervisor, and promotion had the highest means, respectively. Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients showed a significant relationship between overall satisfaction and the facets (P= 0.001). Analysis of variance also showed significant difference in overall satisfaction based on organizational units; however, no significant relationship was observed between overall satisfaction and gender, degree, age, job experience and type of employment. Conclusion: Improvement of promotion process, training and qualifying managers, observing meritocracy principles in appointments, using cooperative management, creating convivial and friendly atmosphere and improving work environment conditions, have brought about an increase in overall satisfaction of employees in SUMS.

The employee's satisfaction improve the productivity and profit so it is importantboth employees and employer also.In this paper researcher tried to explain the concept and factor affecting job satisfaction and their significant relationship with all factors. The commercial banks have embarked on different management strategies as resorts to promote employees job satisfaction. The main purpose of the study is to identify the levels of job satisfaction among employees of public sector bank and the factors contributing to job satisfaction.
